  1. That's the V75 based endure bike. We had a couple of the M/X versions, a proper V75 and a Rickman framed one which was a dog. Engine wise they are quite tough with only the motosplat letting the side down occasionally. I remember that the final drive sprocket was difficult to remove and required a big hydraulic puller, but then i had one fall off whilst racing. Suspension wasn't the best it needed leading axle forks with more travel to match the rear and the standard remote resevoir shocks weren't up to much
  2. What was sammy miller products (now Feked) do one
  3. i've heard of the climber bottom end being used
  4. We use the wire ones as they go into stoney and even rocky ground better than any others I've come across
  5. If you come across some original REH or MP's with knackered stations, it is easy to through the stations and damper rods away and replace with more modern stuff, I normally use Marzochi but other brands are available
  6. Bear in mind that these long stroke motor don't exactly rev, but try it down hill and if it will reach past 45 then the problem is probably fuel
  7. 428 Chain is fine for this application, so leave as is. You might want to consider moving the sprocket away from the wheel slightly as usually the chain runs very close to the tyre. Check wheel alignment first but I suspect this will improve it
  8. It's listed as HTCDI. If you go on their web site and click on bike list, suzuki then ATV and quad the RL is listed there for some reason
  9. Looks like an early frame. 1959/60 with later additions such as the front end and barrel. In original form it would be worth near to £2K but as is probably half that. To be competitive it would need tele's and a lighter front wheel, the front end as is should be saleable. if it is an early frame it will have ball bearings in the head stock which will make everything less rigid but nothing too noticeable. The strap on battery indicates the standard ignition system is not working, but these are usually replaced with electronic kits anyway (budget nearly £300 for this). hope this helps ian
  10. Perhaps for future information, I've just fitted an Electrix world replacement CDI and coil combo and it seems to work fine round the garden and strobes well. Works out at about £70 which is cheeper than the suzuki parts from a breaker. Will be having a better test in the Midland Clasic trial this Sunday at Burycliffe.
  11. 3-Shires head, one of my favourite places
  12. Looks really good especially for the money, what are you putting underneath it?
  13. Try a washer or two under the spring which will increase the rate. Frank Pye and bod Wright are the fantic dealers.
  14. Just looked at the Midland Classic fixture list and we are at Rhodesia on 28th April, can't be too far from you.
  15. I've just come back from helping set up the new years day trial, should be a good one. There are 5 stream sections and the other five in the woods over rock, roots and mud/

    Fuel use 280i

My brother had one and it was the only bike we've known that had to be refuelled during a short course trial
  17. I've just slipped the wheel back in and I don't think you will have any spacers on the brake plate side as it has a cast in boss on it. I know my forks may be a little different, but they are the same make and roughly the same year so can't be too different.
  18. I used a 200 front wheel for a while in my Armstrong and the torque arm was straight
  19. There are a lot of useful bits, more so if its not the electric (SIBA) start version. Most don't have a kick start and the gear lever has no self return so the gearbox end cover has to be changed. The gear ratios are standard road but are a good starting point. The later ones have the same clutch as the 31A so is reasonable. It will have the shorter conrod but you can get 250 barrels to suit. The 11E barrel can be bored to 225 (using the 1H piston) which is useable. Loads of frames about, the James/Francis barnett is very good or the Drayton of course.
  20. EMC were interesting in that the owner used to be the frame builder for CCM and rode his own bikes very well (at AMCA level). The Sach engined 250's were so fast that they produced a 252 version for the open class.
  21. Wilcomoto produced one of the last all British scramblers
