Another Scoop, sorry only got the long ride pic.

I am getting on a bit -42 and just discovering joys of trials, usually go out on Saturday for 4 hours solid riding, but when I am finished I experience a lot of joint pain for rest of day. Anyone else experience this and any remedies or supplements I can try. - cheers.

Hi all, I just refitted my rear wheel and set my cam tensioners to the same markings each side. The wheel doesn't look like its in the center of the swing arm how would I check that? One of the snail cams does look a little battered but wouldn't have thought it would throw it out that much? Any advice ? Thanks in advance

" If this answers the question about how well the new Montesa performs in wet conditions what does it say for the SHERCO? Graham has now won both the SSDT and the Scott on his Sherco and his score was about 1/2 that of Amos. I also noticed that Sherco mounted Sam Connor had a very nice finish. GO SHERCO! Hi folks, I know this is an extremely debatable subject. (Do you ride mud, rocks, for pleasure or to win, etc) I'm just trying to get a feel for how long people keep a tyre going and whether sharp edges are the be all and end all. I have a rear on a 4RT with about 40 to 50 hours of grass slopes and rock sections, practising front wheel lifts and upto 2 foot steps, mainly. The front edges are quite well rounded now. But I still find grip doing tight turns on steep wet grass. I struggle finding grip in mud, but that is probably lack of practise and technique. How often do you change your rears? I recently had the bike in at the local dealer for a few tidying up jobs doing. Its the dealer that I have always used, and have bought two bikes from there, plus had all the various jobs done. In the past, whenever I've put the bike in for work doing, I've always awaited collecting it with eagerness, as it was like picking up a new bike. Above and beyond the work I had requested, she was always beautifully steam cleaned, chain lubed and greased, the carb tweaked (tickover and mixture I guess) to perfection, and a new sticker or two. Fancy getting some Forkleg protectors for the gg pro,carbon ones look cool I know but the plastic ones also look like hey you must fall off a lot!Any thoughts on either type like fitting durabilty n'stuff,best price and from who.The wife says the Blue Peter stickyback plastic route is the way to go.........Girls!!! On Saturday I decided to go for a quick ride in my backyard to keep my skills improving. I have been trying to get 30-45 mins on the bike everyday or two. I was riding around for about 30 mins and I went up a 1.5 metre almost vertical step-up around a tree and then back down. I did it 2-3 times no problems then did a few other things then back to the step up. I went up and around the tree fine then as I was coming down very slowly I got my line wrong, the front wheel tapped a little rock and flicked me over the bars. I have searched the archives and cannot find a guide to bleeding brakes. I wondered if it would be possible if anyone would be able to give me a simple guide to bleeding brakes effectively, as I need to do it on my Beta and don't want to mess it up, I'm sure alot of others would benefit from one too. Hi All I'm after a bit of advice please. Being new to Trials at the age of 44, I was wondering what your thoughts were about personal protection in the form of Body Armour, knee braces etc. I've got a cracking pair of trials boots and helmet, clothing etc but I was thinking of some form of body protection from rocks etc. Whilst learning in a mates field I came off and really winded myself so was fearing the worst for future ventures when I become more experienced and adventurous. Other than the obvious benefit of added protection do you find it cumbersome and a little 'over the top' for Trials? I'd be interested in your thoughts and recommendations for make, model et…

Rode this bike for one year, new rings/piston, cilinder freshly hooned. lubrication 1% synthetic. Rings were sticking due to carbonised and were not sealing properly. Engine did run oke nevertheless, which is funny. In my area i never use more than half throttle max. Is this picture a normall clinderbowl look due to low throttle for one year.

Any one got any good methods on how to fix new grips to the bars and throttle? I've used hairspray,matt black paint, clear laquer,neat petrol.....................anymore ideas???????????????? Thanks

Working on the SSDT photos and videos, it's amazing how many people ride tongue-out. Does it help concentration or something?!

Bikespace I see you have bought these. They look OK. What did you think? Presume, as they seem to be as per the hebo pattern, they will fit my 2003 Sherco using the existing springs and bolts etc. Cheers BC

I'm not advocating taking the Beta for a spin down the high street to spice things up a bit but I for one have been cutting myself a bit slack on the biking front off late. Let's be frank at 58 there's not many miles left in the off road tank so you've got to take every chance to get out. Normally I would ride at weekends but now I slip off at every opportunity for a play in the local area. This sounds crazy but I've got away with it probably because folk have far more to worry about than me buzzing around. Following on from my other Beta thread... can anyone comment on what the Beta 4t Evos are like? Are the 300's a mellow well handling bike? And how do they stack up against the 4RT? I've had a slight hankering for a 4RT and like the idea of a 4 stroke generally but whenever I mention I usually get told that it will be no good in the mud (we get LOTS of that where I am) and that 'Ill get fed up with the weight of it. Not so worried about the weight, it would be lighter than my Fantic, I'm sure! I've had my Gaerne boots for about a year and a half. Allways oil them and dry properly. Do about 1 trial a month and practice once a week. Noticed that the stitching on the left boot has broken and the leather is starting to come away from the rubber sole. Taken the boot to a couple of cobblers and none of the say they can repair it. Apart from this area of stitching breaking, the boots are in really good condition but it looks like they are going to be chucked if they can't be repaired. This seems crazy as I had my last pair of boots for years. Was wondering if anybody else had had trouble with Gaerne boots and how long do people tend to get out of their boots ? …

Just been thinking of good ways to put your bike out of action when not riding just to make it difficult for the scum to enjoy. These are apart from locking it up. Handlebar clamps removed Fork tops off Wheel out Carb plug out kickstart removed Gear lever removed Has anyone got better ideas.All the above are 5 minute tasks. Might start doing a couple of these each week
