Currently running a Nissan Primastar but i am looking to change in the next few weeks and have narrowed it down to the following. Transit Toyota Hiace VW T5 Mercedes Vito Did look at the Renault, Vauxhall, Nissan vans (all the same as mine just badge engineered) but have heard some bad reports. Considered the Citroen, Fiat, Peugeot but again heard of reliability problems. So what experience has everybody had especially with the four i prefer? I am open to other suggestions but i need a proper sized van as it's not used just for carrying the bike, sometimes 3 bikes, but also to tow a burger van and shift stuff / rubbish etc. I also like the idea of having somewhere …

Hi Guys I've recently started transporting my bike about on the back of the motor using one of the following types of carriers (attached). As I live in Edinburgh I am extremely conscious about bike theft, my garage has already been attempted a few times over past year and I hate the idea of someone following me. Does anyone know of any good covers that can be purchased to help hide what I am carrying? All help/pointers appreciated.

Hi Folks, I own a Peugeot 1007 fitted with a Swan neck towbar, Im wanting to fit a bike rack instead of lugging a trailer around, anyone know of a clamp that fits onto the swan neck to allow the fitting of said bike rack. Thanks Folks

Found a great product that helps secure a trials bike while bouncing around in a trailer to get to the ‘trials ground’. As we know the trials mudguard is very close to the tyre where my KTM EXCF 500 has a reversed shock mount I can use a spacer. Tried a few different ways, tie downs from the handlebars- front shockies triple clamp etc but the Tyrefix Ace Bikes system works a treat as it slides under the front mudguard, simple and easy. Latch seat belt system that connects to the buckle is smart. Fit one on the rear wheel as well and it doesn’t move. https://www.acebikes.com/en/transport-service/tyrefix-tie-down-system

This recent article I seen on the MSN was talking about how folk relate to the MPG (miles per gallon) figures on US vehicles, and do not relate it to actual dollars! Makes me wonder what the comparison is with the euro vans and such, which are popular as it seems, of which we have few. Only the Sprinter(Merc) comes to mind, and they can be huge, depending upon configuration. I have not seen and cannot really relate to some of the others talked about here. Diesel or gas, what do you run? What does it cost? As the PU truck is still the standard here, and I feel somewhat fortunate as things go, to be able to load bike and gear into the big Dodge Cummins powered turbodiesel…

A friend as asked if he can modify his old builders trailer into a bike trailer, or if it would now need to be type approved after the modifications? I would be handy if he did, as he wants to borrow mine!

Has anybody tried to contact Kliponoff recently. I do know that the business has been sold on and moved to Nelson in Lancs I think but the telephone number was redirected to the new owners. I have tried in the last week and the number is now not recognised, wondered if anybody knew who or how to contact the new owners? Cheers Steve

Does anyone have experiece of using a wheelchair converted Fiat Doblo car. I want to get my Fantic 200 in it. Is the ground clearance too much reduced?, Is it much heavier and therefore less economical? I have been looking around for a while and there seems to be a lot of low mileage examples about.

Hi, I have fitted my bike rack today, for the first time, just as a trial run because i am going out on my bike for the first time at the weekend and wanted to make sure everything was ok and it fits great, the bike sits nice and it doesn't hit the back of the car or anything like that, the only thing that concerns me is, after i fit the first bar to where the tow ball is and then slot the two other pieces in to it, should their be something that stops the two pieces from jumping out, like a pin or something or do i just use ratchet straps to pull it all together. this is a photo of the type of rack i have got.
