In our part of the country where club memberships are small and run by members who are riders it has always been a problem getting observers. Events normally end up short of observers resulting in members giving up rides or sharing observer duties. What are other clubs doing to attract/reward people who are kind enough to observe or do they have some kind of system for riders to do the observing and ride.. Large membership clubs who have non riding members perhaps don't get this problem or do they?

Hi all, I am in the process of restoring a bitsa Bultaco. The frame is a model 85 250 Alpina and the motor is a model 49 250 Sherpa. What I am after is a service kit for the rear shocks, I have looked in numerous places and can't find any, does anyone know where I might get them? Thank you all for your time.

Any tips on spectating at the Scott? Were staying in the area for the weekend, we've bought a programme so we have the map for spectator sections, parking instructions etc. I'm mainly interested to know if there are any must see areas, if it's workable to spectate at a section then drive to another or if its only really practical stay put, and also which sections are best avoided by those who aren't very agile on their feet.

This is one for you Midlands guys who have been using Linley Woods to practise in. If what I have heard today is correct, it seems that this piece of land, used for unobtrusive trials practise by small numbers of people for about thirty years, is now lost. Apparantly, the element of the 4x4 brigade that don't give a sh*t about anything but themselves discovered it and have been doing what they do best, carving the place up and causing considerable damage. This resulted in the residents getting a little miffed and calling the police. To even get in they must have driven through bushes or something because as far as I can remember the only entrance is only wide enough to …

I posted a while back regarding Midlands clubs and Practice riding. Since I started riding again a few weeks back I've visited a few of the old practice areas that I used a few years back in the Midlands area. Some of you in the Midlands will know and will have used the Rugeley practice area at the Farm on Power Station Rd. We had a drive over yesterday to ride only to find that the land has been closed for about 6 months ! The main reason for the closure is that certain nearby residents have made complaints regarding noise. MX bikes were the main cause of the complaints and therefore are no longer welcome. Upon talking to Ken ( The Landowner ) he told us that he'd…

Just wondering if anyone can help with my gas gas txt 300. The bike sounds like it’s slightly spluttering when Reving up. Also I’m first gear going up hills it sounds like it’s not running right, almost like the choke is on. I have removed the spark plug and it’s very sotty and black, which correct me if I’m wrong seems like it’s running rich. I have move the clip on the carb needle up a notch (now on the very top notch) the jet size are 122 and a 38 I vaguely remember but need to check. Carb has been stripped and cleaned recently. Does anyone have any suggestions on maybe jet sizes etc. all the best adam

Bit of a random one, at the Dirt Bike Show a few years ago there was a company selling sheds that were lined with metal cages. So from the outside it looked like a normal she’d but was far more secure. I’m pretty sure the chap was a trials rider. I think they were called Secure Sheds but can’t find any reference on the net so may not exist anymore. Anyone remember or know anything about them? Cheers

Im looking at buying a Vertigo vertical DL 2018 300cc, Am I doing the right thing, looks mint condition & states it as only been used in local trials. Do they have a dry & wet switch to change the mapping? People say they can eat plugs, & can have electrical issues, Im no trial rider but my two sons are,, Beta 300 4 stroke, GasGas 280 2 stroke, and want to do local trials. I did win a trials once,, G Limber champion back in 1980 but now 59 might not be as easy! please any advice would be greatly appreciated. if you have had an 2018 model or been around them that would be so helpfull.

Hi folks, Considering to create a pre 65 bike (winter(s) project idea) but I'd to know the basic rules that apply to building a machine. Must it be british made only, frames and suspension mods allowed etc. What is the trials definition of a classic? that may be an easier machine to create Thanks

I’m just trying to get an understanding on the different competitions and what is related to what. As a relative noob I’m assuming most completions are run by the FIM? So there’s European, National and International championships, 125cc championships, then there’s Trial 2 - I’m struggling to get my head around what leads into what or if they are all different ‘leagues’ or competitions in their own right? Then there’s various names trials, Wallace etc, are these one off events rather than multi event championships? Could someone point out the structure so understand how it all fits together better please?

So here I am contemplating another bike. 2 years back I had my workshop broken into and my bikes stolen. My main ride was a KTM SXF 350 and I had a li'l Beta Rev3 250 2007 for messing about on. I incidentally got the Beta back after it had been dumped (it was a bit rough to be fair) however after retrieval I left it in my van over night to have it nicked again and that was 3 weeks later after the 1st theft hmmmm something fishy going on there me thinks. Anyhoo Vowed I wouldn't ride or buy a bike again!! Well my 'vow' isn't holding water, 2 years on and I'm feeling like ive lost a limb and am starting to look at trials bikes. My experience with trials is very limited …
