  3. Hi Guys I recently changed my oil on the Rev4 250 4T and this little wire/wave washer was attached to the magnet on the drain plug. I don't know where it is from. Or if i have misassembled the engine. There doesn't appear to be any damage on the part and the engine appears to run fine. History stuff i have done - the bike has had a factory kick-starter kit (requires removal of clutch basket), head gasket (i did a cylinder head polish, piston top polish, and valve tickle while it was apart), valves have been adjusted a few times, clutch plates have been cleaned up (requires removal) Does any one have any idea where it is from??????? Thanks in advance, Ralphy

Looking for some advice with my 2010 Evo 300 4T. The bike has been running fine for some time, but at a trial few weeks ago the carb had come loose from the engine when the rear boot to the airbox had failed. I got it reconnected and it did run for a while, but stalled in a section so I retired. I have replaced the boot to the air box and stripped the carb to blow out the jets and also fitted a new mixture screw. The bike now starts OK, especially when cold but as I ride it, if I hold the throttle slightly open the bike will judder and stall. If you get past the low revs it will rev OK. After a few minutes at tick-over the bike will usually stall. Another th…

My rev 250 has been causing me unwanted headaches. The last couple of times out I have had a hell of a job getting it started from cold. When it dose start it coughs and pops like a good un. The plug has been oiled up when removed. I am using a mix of 100 cc to 5L is this too rich ? When I replace the plug with a new one it seems to do the trick for a short while then its back to square one . My main concern is when the bike is ticking over it pops constantly unlike other rev 3s Ive listened too...... Any ideas ? p.s I have done the carb mods on r2w ,s site

Dropped off NYL's Gasser Last night and had a look at a 250 Evo. Bike had been picked up from John that day and was one of the first in the country. I gather that there are only about a dozen about. Jack Challoner has one and there will be a couple at the Dirt Bike show.

  7. I am having a terrible time with the rear brake of my son's bike. It was binding so I removed and clean the pistons, one was stuck solid. I then set about bleeding the system, I removed the master cylinder pushrod and used a crosshead to obtain full strokes. My problem is that it never stops producing air bubbles, I must have put a litre of fluid through. I've tried forcing fluid in the bleed nipple with a syringe until it fills the reservoir. There is still hardly any brake, I then tried to catch any surging bubbles with conventional bleeding from the rear pumping the pedal and it continues to produce air bubbles. I then took the master cylinder apart, the seals look fin…

Just fitted a Jitsie knurled wheel air mixture screw to my 2016 Beta Evo 4t to make adjustments easier. ( Not an easy change, very fiddly ). Counted the old air screw as three out from fully wound in, did the exchange, putting the o ring and spring from the old jet on the Jitsie, wound it in, backed it off three turns, put it all back together. Fired up ok , but wouldn't tick over, I had to readjust the tick over, now runs just the same as before ............bit bemused, any ideas guys or anyone fitted a Jitsie with the same issue. Got to say the Jitsie product is well made, I'm not saying it's that that's faulty. Thanks.

I am looking at buying a 2001 rev 3 270 from a mates dad, I had a go on and I liked it a lot, when cold though the clutch has to be tightened up on the cable and then after riding for a while needs to be loosened off. Is this a major problem and what is the cure? When were hydraulic clutches introduced and can an after market one be fitted? I was looking at getting a 250 but I know the history of this bike from new and it has only been in a few trials so is in good condition and therefore would be a good buy i feel. Are there any problems to look for on this model or year of bike? I have ridden trail bikes but as this is my first trials bike I thought maybe a slow actio…

... this thing is killing me. I've finally got the clutch working reasonably well, but when the gearbox gets hot, like riding a loop in an event, the clutch drag gets so horrible that I can't roll the bike back with the clutch in and the bike in gear. Shifting up through the box is a total disaster. If an event was me carrying my bike from one section to the next, life would be grand, but since I have to actually shift the damn thing out of 1st now and then and ride the loop, I'm getting pretty annoyed.

Does anyone have information on the new Beta Importer? When is he taking over? Is there a current website? It is about time someone takes over the Beta bikes and parts in the U.S. Our current importer has his prices hiked up so high, you would think the parts were laced in gold.

Helloooo everyone. I want the new Beta, but do i really need it Up until about 3 months ago, i had only been out on my 05 Beta about 5 times tops this year, but over the last couple of months i have being getting out about once a fortnight, not enough i know, but i have to try and keep everyone happy. I know one of my mates wants my bike and will pay top dollar for it, as he knows i look after my bikes, i mentioned it to him last night and he said he would be putting his LARD GAS on Ebay straight away. It was the mrs that actually said " Why don't you get a new bike" ( I was looking at the new Beta on the website as she said it ) What is the main differneces in the…

Hi, quick question if I may, which I know may have been covered before on older Betas but this is new. Slight clutch drag ie, not disengaging instantly which is frustrating on a new bike but im told (having never owned one before) that it is common on Beta and will need a good 'running in' and oil change. On questioning the oil type/grade we all seem to have our own personal ideas and preferences indeed reasons why one is better than the other. A couple of dealers suggest either Putoline NANO TRANS or GP10, others with good riders suggest part synthetic, not fully synthetic and others good grade 4T 10/30 or 10/40. Some have recommended a clutch mod but surely that isn't n…

I just came home from riding to find coolant dripping from right under the water pump, I have read there is a weep hole there that will drip if the outer water pump shaft seal in going bad. I see no evidence of water in the motor oil so I assume the inner water pump seal is still sealing. After looking up what parts I need I can only find one part number, but there are two seals. 1. Does anyone know if you order the one number and it comes as a kit with two seals? Or do I order two of that part number and they are the exact same seals? 2. I see there is a special water pump shaft removal tool. Do I need it or can I just dig the old seals out carefully? 3. …

Hi all, I'm just posting this question for a mate who rides an 2014 Evo 200 and has the following ongoing problem. Since new the fuel cap on the tank has leaked from the breather tube. The supplier has sent replacement caps but they all leak the same. The last one was supplied from the suppliers own bike along with the comments "I know this one does not leak", well it does on this bike. So much fuel has leaked out that the decals are lifting or missing in areas where the fuel has reached. Some time ago I suggested he fit a bit of hose with and external one way valve on top to the cap, but he wants this problem sorted. Any body experienced this or may know of a cause? …
