I just got this bike and didn't notice the chatter the first week. Now I notice it alot. The kick-starter seems to chatter all the time. When I press lightly on the top it will stop. I tried to move it forward a bit, but it did not help. I couldn't find anything in the forums or on line? Any suggestions to why? Do I just have to put up with it while I ride? Thanks for any help.

Hi all, I have a 340 Bultaco, I bought it off Roy "Ago" Wilson some years back, although I have ridden it a few times it is a bit rough in places and I'm currently considering a general direction for a refurb ( i.e. do up as is or continue the development)for another go at riding it. At the time of purchase it was already in a fairly modified state i.e. having been vesty-ised to some extent at the rear end, according to Roy this could have been carried out by Chris Milner. I managed to speak to Chris at a trial a few years ago and he could not confirm if it was his work or not, I have also spoken to Dave Renham who confirmed that it was supplied new to Dave Thorpe, I hav…

Hi, I've recently brought a 1978 Sherpa and it's on standard sprockets 13/46 and I think it's a bit too tall for trials. Any suggestions on better sizes? I will need to buy chain and sprocket set, so want to get it right first time. I hope someone can help.

What's a good chain for my M199 that I won't have to adjust constantly? I ride pretty regularly, every weekend if I can and find that I'm always having to adjust the chain. Any particular brand and model stand out from the rest? The DID I'm using at the moment is reasonable but I'm still having to nip it up frequently. And yes, I do keep it clean and lubed...

Frame no on steering head is JB-15100484 if that helps . I've just taken the top end off and I now know the motor is a 5 speed 350 . Any info greatly appreciated . Thanks Lee

I have just noticed a Model 49 on 'Spinning Wheel Classics' website with an interesting letter of provenance, I have exactly the same bike including Homerlite tank and 'later' exhaust in bits in my shed, I have taken said bits to Mr Millers and he says they are just standard M49 of 1970s manufacture so my question is does anyone else have the same bike and are there more than the four? I also notice certain spelling mistakes in the letter surely even Sammy could spell his own address and the word Scottish with two T's, Oh and was there a Scottish TWO day trial in1969? Heres hoping only the other two bikes appear!
