What are the coldest and least waterproof boots? I love my Forma Boulders enough to have two pairs, but holy hell they get hot! Is there anything on the market that's reasonably priced and has big holes in it? I might ask a shoe repair place to add some holes to my rough pair or something

hello again, when I lat did trials, about 15 years ago, I used some alpinestars gore tex socks, which worked great in keeping my feet dry, even after trudging my way thru streams . my boots would be soaked thru, but the goretex socks would keep my feet dry. they were great, but would eventually leak when the membrane got damaged, or just through use. mine lasted a couple of years tho, so I cant complain (but I will) Im struggling to find them now, they must have stopped making them. I see sealskinz socks are still about bit havnt used them. they are meant to be water proof. Anyone use them, and are they actually completely waterproof? If I was wearing them…

Hey to all, looking at buying my first pair of trilas specific boots. It appears from my reading that the most popular boots are the Gearne but I can buy Alpinestar No-Stop through my parts dealer here at the repair shop. I'm being tight maybe but a dollar is a dollar. Are the Gearne's worth the extra $$? Thanks in advance

Hi guys I'm new to trials, and wondering about safety gear.. Boots are number 1 priority for me. Used to ride MX bike and broke my ankle in couple places. After long time thinking decided to go for trial bike- looks safer.. I checked so many reviews for trial boots, but most of them state how flexible and comfortable they are.. Almost bought SIDI trial boots, but when I checked them in store, ankle area didn't look very supportive, looked so so flexible compare to mx boots. Maybe you can give me an advice from practice what boots give a bit more support for ankle? Or are they pretty much the same and every trial boot is so flexible? Also, what disadvantage …

Ok, I'm a North american, and dont know anything about the subject I just started... and haven't seen, maybe someone has posted all of this info in another thread? But is Hebo dead? I'm due for more boots, I have 2 worn out pairs now. I tried the "latest" style a couple years back, the new ones with booties in them, they suck, wont fit my feet so I just kept wearing my originals. now I see I can't even find those anywhere in the UK sites, nor Ebay anymore. So what have you guys that were satisfied with hebo's classic boot, moved to? I can't be the only person with 4 year old Hebo boots that are starting to wonder what to replace them with?

Recently i have brought my trials gear off of wulf sport i was expeting to get some cheap rubbish off of them asthe prices were cheap but i must say that the products are of amazing quality better than Jitzie or Hebo and also the products that they sell are dirt cheap. Hi all As the post states really, Which hanle bar grips do people prefer? I use a renthal trials grip which i like but its the only one i have tried. I tend to crash a fair bit and go through a fair few sets,is there a better grip out there which is maybe a little tougher? cheers Adam

Hi all, I need advice after last Sundays diabolical rain. We use Staceys Observer cards & you probably know how useless they are to write on in biro [or pencil] when they are damp & they are worse when wet. The Results team then has to interpret the card when it's dried out - next day Does anyone have a cost effective foolproof system that you can give to your Observers & know: 1 They can record the Lap, Rider Number & Marks lost easily from start to finish, when they are out for 4 hours in clouds & pouring rain. 2 It must cater for Multilap Trials - 3 or 4 laps of 20 or 15 Sections at most, & more likely 2 or 3 laps of 20 or 15 Sections 2 …

As the title suggests what wet/cold weather gear do people have/use/like? Especialy for Trials such as the 6day as the Scott. Currently I have a light weight Hebo jacket, a old soft shell jacket, standard farmers legging and seal skin socks. The sock are the only things I would total recommend for a wet/cold the other stuff does the job but not brilliant. Looking to get some fresh stuff so what do you suggest?

I have a pair of Gaerne Balanced oil - after approx 3 months of riding once or twice a weeks the soles are holed !! My footpegs are in decent nick. Has anyone else had this problem ? I emailed Gaernes website and got no response,What should I get next ? certainly wont be Balanced oils, which is a shame cos they are lovely.

Morning All, I had a pretty shocking ride yesterday at the Eastern Experts trial at the wonderful Purl's Hill Wood on the Suffolk/ Essex border. We all have off days, and this was mine! I had a nasty off when I failed to crest the top of a big climb and clattered into a tree (I actually managed to paddle out and saved 2 marks, so that's the important thing...), this resulted in my full decelerating weight falling onto my left footpeg. I now have a hole in my shin that makes me feel sick if I even think about it, never mind look at it! This is the worst 'shark bite' I've ever had, but I do get peg marks from time to time. It's made me think that a decent shin protector …

I managed to do a comedy fall onto a boulder at walking pace. I was practicing alone and landed on the top of my right thigh. The entire length of the thigh swole up and it was difficult to walk, let alone ride. As a result I have lost a weeks riding time. What are your thoughts on impact gear? I was looking at some of the mtb, snowboarding and rugby stuff, as it appears a good compromise between protection and flexibility. Any comments, recomedations etc would be great. Thanks Gordon

What do you eat during a trial?I am looking for advice on what to eat during a trial.Pies and buns don't seem to work.At present its a Mars bar or a couple of bananas and plenty of water,then the same again when I fuel up the bike.I'm getting on a bit (40 something) and yesterday got cramp just as I finished a climb through a steep rocky section and bailed out just after the ends cards(someone told me it was because lack of salt?). Man it's cold up in them hills..... My regular riding gloves are nice and thin for a good feel on clutch break and throttle, but...... They're c c c cold!!! Can anyone recommend something a little thicker or better suited to this weather...... But not to thick so's I can't feel things? My right hands got a few hinges instead of knuckles after a decent road bike crash so I feel the cold like bloody tooth ache in me bones.....
