Got a play on the first one in the US at the TTC weekend! Quite nice! Impressions are,(though quite subjective) quite strong off the bottom, much like the Honda, but will chug down to nothing where the Honda stopps running and spits you over the bars, and still recover with lots of power! After it cought me by surprize and put me on my butt, I respected it a bit more(first to crash it too) after the floater became a flip turn that I was not ready for! Stronger in the lower revs than the 2T 250 I think! Maybe even the 270! After that it seemed to flatten out to a very rideable and linear power much like the 4T Scorpa, which is very linear all the way through the revs, a…

Yup, I've deleted two threads on the subject, but feel an explanation is necessary. Firstly Sherco were not happy that this was published as it was unofficial. I contacted them and said I was NOT going to publish it without their approval. I did (reluctantly) get clearance from them to post the video from the 15th, but as the smallest part of this video was 19Mb and, in my opinion, not worth the valuable bandwidth and inevitable slowdown of the site for other users, I decided not to post it. I do not care what other websites choose to publish. This site exists solely for the promotion of the sport and that includes manufacturers and distributors as well as clubs and rid…

How much does a 290 2t use on an average trial? I have been on reserve a few times and run right out once i recon reserve is about 10cc watch out

  11. Just wondering if any other Sherco 4t's have experienced this problem. When first adjusting the valves I discovered loose clearances in all four valves. Didn't think too much of it and shimmed to correct clearences. Several months later when checking them the intakes were fine but a lot of clearance in the exhaust valves. I Found the roller on the rocker arm that rides on the cam to push the valves is loose and turns but also moves up and down on the pin that holds it in place. The continued wearing is opening the exhaust valve clearance. The intake side is normal and rolls without problems as it should be. Has anyone else experienced this with their Sherco 4t or is…

Not much trials stuff at the Bike Show (NEC). But almost hidden in a dark corner on the Michelin stand is the four stroke 320 Sherco. Neat job, real slim. As no-one was about we tested the weights comparing it with the two smoke alongside. Not a lot in it really, only a few pounds. Managed to miss the trials display though.......

Looks like the monty 4rt has got power after all! I dont think an under powered heavy bike with the extra weight of a chair and another person could win a national trial do you ? I think the doupters should take note,4 STROKE IS THE WAY TO GO.

Hi, new rider looking to purchase first trials bike since 1983 and am thinking about a new beta 300 and wondering how many things I can do to soften it even more to enable me to learn without feeling the bike is dragging me along. Narrowed down to Beta 300 or Montesa 260. I will also be purchasing the additional seat so I can use it as a general trail bike. other than a slow throttle and fly wheel are there other things I can do? Initially I’d like it very dumbed down. In an ideal world I’d simply buy a beta 200 but I would like to have the option to ride trails 55 year old with zero bike riding since 2000 and very poor bikes handling skills

I have a fabulous Cub that had a Montesa conical hub rear wheel in it which worked very well and polished up nicely almost matching the REH in the front. I have since sourced a REH rear and sold on the Montesa rear wheel. I am having a clear out in the garage and found a 66T 420 pitch Talon sprocket I had made for the Montesa rear wheel. If anyone is using a similar wheel and would like this sprocket it is free of charge as long as you collect or cover the postage. The sprocket number is TR232.
