Im looking at getting a decompressor fitted to my Beamish Suzuki. Have seen pictures of a Beamish with it done. anyone have any experience in doing this ? thanks

Hi all, I need some help please with assembling the forks on my Beamish. It's been quite some time since I took them apart so my memory for the position of the parts is faint, The drawing of the forks on the Beamish owners club differs from mine so i'm uncertain as to the position of all the parts. I'm hoping someone on this forum has pictures of the correct assembly for the parts in the picture I have attached. my main concern is for the position of the small springs on the damper rod. Hello ! What about steering angles of MKII and MKIII frames ? I mainly would like to know if MKIII makes you feel front wheel "lighter" ? Though i lowered and moved backward footpegs, i find my MKII much less handy than my 175 TY... Thanks for sharing your opinions ! Jean-Pierre

I have a1975 RL250 I reconditioned several years ago. In the process I needed a new petcock due to leaking past the on/off position, plus leaking around the petcock on/off lever. I originally found a supposed OEM petcock from Partzilla I believe it was, and it worked but the location where the gas line connected sat lower than the original and since it exited out the back the line hits the throttle cable on the carb so a pretty extreme angle on the gas line is needed, so much so that it partially kinks the gas line. Since it is threaded, and the body of the petcock can be rotated, I had just turned it to miss the throttle cable. The trouble with that is it puts the lev…

Hi, I have just acquired a 1968 Bearcat which is the ideal starting point to build a Gaunt replica! Being the latest model of the Bearcat it has the B100 frame with the TC120 dual range motor it’s perfect for the job! But I have a number of questions... Forks, These should be from the Invader 200 are they still 30mm? And looking at photos they must be a bit longer if so how much? If I can’t find any Invader forks I’ll find something suitable that looks right While we are at the front did Peter alter the head angle? How much gearbox oil do I need in my beamish (silver engine) The manual states 700cc & the g/b cover states 850cc?

As this is the next running maintainence job I need to do (to sort a slow oil leak) I am wondering if anyone who had done one before can shed light on the following: 1) I understand that it must be done with the selector shaft removed as you can not prise it out and replace the new one over the selector shaft 2) In order to withdrawal the selector shaft, I believe the clutch basket needs to come off? Is this splined or tapered and is it easy to get off, or like the montesa, a real pig that needs a heavy duty puller? 3) When reassembling is their any line up marks that need to be paid attention to to ensure all gears select OK thanks Rob

Hi All, Can anyone please help me with information regarding the re-assembly of a Beamish Suzuki (black engine) gearbox? If someone has some good pictures of the re-assembly order of the components that are known to be correct that will be a great help. It’s been some years since I took it apart so I have no memory of any details regarding re-assembly. I had taken many pictures but I’m still not confident that the position of some components is correct. I have just rebuilt my engine (reed valve type), and am having trouble with gear selection. I can get the first four gears but it doesn't want to go into fifth, does anyone have any tips on where I might have gone wrong. I thought that I had put it together according to the diagram in the manual but perhaps not. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks.

I’ve noticed my bike as hairline cracks across the headstock gusset plates I know this is common but what’s the best way to repair, or can it be left alone?

Has anyone got a spacer for the non brake side for front wheel or can anyone make one from dimensions of their own, I have either lost mine or didn't realise I had not received it when I bought the suzuki front end. Also has anyone machined off the normal handlebar (i.e. tiller type position) and put clamps on in a more modern position ?

In my part of the world, there are no Whitlock frames or Beamish Suzukis to be had. My dentist who happens to be the best dentist I have ever seen, has commisioned me to build a custom Suzuki special. Here's what I've come up with so far. I will be finishing up the front skid plate bracket arrangement, doing footpeg mounts in the proper location and side panels, before stripping it down to finish all the welding, and paint it polish it etc. I plan to paint the frame silver, and do a two tone paint job on the tank, in the original pattern. Do you find your RL325 a bit of a handful at low speeds? There are a few ways you can calm it down. 1. There is a hole in the barrel just above the exhaust port that get clogged with carbon. You can feel it in the top of the exhaust outlet as a channel, the hole is only about 2mm but if this is cleaned out it will make quite a difference at low speeds, that is what it is there for. There is no hole on the RL250. 2. The standard ignition system on the beamish is analogue and linear, you can get a mapped digital ignition that calms it down at low speeds but still give you all the power when you open the throttle. 3. Hi all, I have just come across an ex John Reynolds works beamish, apparently it was sold to a family friend by John after completing the scottish on it, the bike has been untouched and tucked away safely since then, could anyone with any info or pics of john riding a beamish in the scottish 6 day, or what year he rode one there please help, i will post some pics of the bike as soon as i can. thanks: Scrumpy

Anyone know if you can get a new kickstart or if a kickstart of another bike will fit a 1973 Beamish this isnt my bike and i'm not sure the beamish models were out in 73 so it would be useful if someone could confirm as well, the owner bought it in a box and only has details from the seller. thanks
