These guys could ride a washing line....no less pleasing to watch than modern good riders.
  2. That can't be right....0.2mm maybe ...If it was vibrating bad before you stopped it I would suspect not only knackered bearings .big end but crank balance as well.
  3. Do I understand Helloves correctly Elf 2T gearbox oil.....we have a brace of 2012 Evos and the plates sticking together is a real pain..not only do you get /give the gearselection/box a hard time but delayed disengagement is not what you would call cutting edge tecnology in any motor sport let alone trials.
  4. what a pity they can't control the quality when they make them...... I had a problem last year with a bottom limit rim and a top limit tyre so know how frustrating this is...... IRC a better feeling/gripping tyre (around here) than the Michelin X11... IRC shreds up and is too flexible for rocks.. problem for us punters is that Michelin will have monopoly and we all know what that will do to the price. Good observation though as it is generally a more flexible /thin walled tyre you need to run with a bit more pressure than you would a Michelin.

    Rear Wheel

How much would be a fair price for a spare rear wheel for Evo.. " New" type unused complete with sprocket & disc.. Been offered from European friend @ 360 Euros ..is that good price?

    Bar Ends

Sharp edges ... If your rubber grips are complete/ok then in europe you have no problem,, when your bike has fallen over a few times the bar ends get exposed as the rubber breaks /cuts/tears...you can then trim the rubber grip and fit a bar stop end. of course you can fit new grips..trim them & fit bar ends if you want. Some opinion is that (and I recall Jack Aeibi one day years ago in the SSDT falling off and smashing the throttle tube resulting a dodgy 10 mile ride to replace it) it is best to fit stop ends to protect the throttle tube.
  8. Any progress... used to be that misfires under load pointed towards HT problems..... i.e anything after the CDI/coil..HT coil....lead.... plug
  9. Any light to shed on who may be entered by Scorpa?
  10. ! .5 to 2 " lower is mega.. us aftermarket manufacturers struggle for days to find ways to lower the footrest height by one or two millimeters....

    Frame Protectors

Sensible stuff at sensible prices....for a change!
  12. Just been through the whole tedious exercise again for Janet on a new 125 Evo.... TPF&T £140.00 through Bikesure (adrian Flux) Sara or Rob... insurer is Marherstudy Insurance co ltd actual premium cost is £105.00.. European cover 90 days inc. PS I would very much like to know who is responsible for updating the insurerers databases ...would it be the manufacturers have to advise them, Vosa?..Importers? insurance agents?... PPS Many companies couldn't fit a 125 cc into the £price bracket of a new trials bike. PPPS just checked spelling is Markerstudy ins co.ltd. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=marherstudy%20insurance%20co%20ltd&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CEAQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.markerstudy.com%2F&ei=kidVT8KAJeKc0AWLt4DRCw&usg=AFQjCNGcXB-N9Skxqy5-PEHw6vmlJd-9fQ&sig2=BPnObVIuwiNMC1IOq3F7VA&cad=rja
  13. It's the same for all of us; you're moving in the right direction already by thinking about what is /was happening. Sounds like it's the dreaded flags/section markers getting to you.general rule of thumb is slow as possible at top..going downhill..... fast as possible at bottom going uphill ..
  14. All this stuff about tyres is a bit of a red herring, the future riders and organisers of our sport (which like every other sport is constantly evolving) don't like , can't do no stop line riding (only a generalisation). The old brigade /purists don't like/ can't do stop ,pose, reposition, blat up a big old obstacle. The real crunch seems to be that the future riders need the old brigade to organise and observe and the old brigade are not interested, particularly when a succession of riders get into their section and commence to stop with foot down, reposition front end ...reposition back end... discuss gear selection with minder et al, select gear three or four times rev out engine till it nearly explodes, set off and promptly stop at the next obstacle in the section and repeat the process. What we need now is a compromise between the the two "camps". probably sensible section setting out would be the most simple thing to allow all parties involved to have a good days trialing.
  15. not a new problem ; I recall the origin of a famous phrase;.. we were getting to the end of the Manx 2 day when a guy pushed in...to our amazement a normally meek and quite guy ..Gary Scrivens got off his bike went up to the guy and gesticulated a little when he returned we asked what was said he replied I told him where the back end of the queue is and to get there..which he did. I think the moral of dealing with these sort of people is to be as pushy and agressive as they are....really if its a queue and it came to blows the offender would come off the worst no matter how big/hard he is. We have seen it come to blows in centr trials here. PS wonder if it the same guy?.. I heard a tale on the weekend involving this issue , the COC changed a couple of sections which a guy had done out of turn and therfore the guy had the choice to get in the queue or "miss" the sections.

    Engine Gaurd ?

Are you talking about Trick bits sort of guards?, buckingham palace sort of guards?,anti sarcasm guards?
  17. Is it any good for a fry up?
  18. fair enough, only the COC or his deputy...the observer can decide what constitutes misplaced...imagine if it were otherwise!!!!!! X no riders ===X no of opinions. good to bring up these details though. My favourite is the helpfull rider who points out it's been misplaced and promptly misplaces it even more in the act of replacing it (all in the cause of of gallantry)..te he.
  19. Be sure to keep us informed ..all any info has to be worth having on this subject.

  22. Crikey this thing will run for ever... one thing I notice is that Bernie Schrieber can still ride his old bikes today in competition with the same tecniques etc. and still whatever it is (30 odd years on) participate and enjoy...I can't imagine the modern tecniques being physically possible even for Toni Bou in 30 years time. Somebody said above that Toni Bou is an Alien ..different planet etc. yes but at the time so was Bernie Schrieber. We ccertainly cant lead the world by unilaterally stepping back in time equally we can't simply follow the Spanish down the road of ever more specialised trials which only a few can do.
  23. Done that would like to get it on F book havvnt the savvy.
