  1. Actually the Keihin is easier than the models with a Del Orto. It takes just the right twist of the inlet manifold. I spray the inlet with a good coat of lubricant first. Good luck. I certainly was not happy the first time either.
  2. Standard pegs and mounts are the best. This is why. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/61009-montesa-4rt-frame-snap/#entry431193
  3. It is probably just the clutch, which all the Pro`s do it. Does it go away with the clutch pulled in?
  4. I always used ATF in Beta`s.
  5. Best answer is here. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/43075-86-tlr250rg-or-kt2-forks-and-wheel-options/#entry314131
  6. Location, location,location.
  7. It needs a M/C rebuild kit. The seal is bad.
  8. On a 2014, a good hard run to burn up the remaining oil in the exhaust is all that should be needed. Besides the standard replacing of the packing. You might do more harm than good otherwise. Nothing worse than having midpipe packing slowly coming apart and clogging the rest of the pipe.
  9. If you have a `14 the packing should just pull out the back after removing the tip.
  10. Run the kill button wire into the black wire going to the coil.
  11. Coolant for aluminum blocks ok. The fan is worn, lubing won`t help. Make sure the thermo is bypassed and you can push start it with your fingers. Most fans will fit it. It should take closer to 300 ml, but I cannot remember exact amount. A bit of piston slap is most of it.
  12. Probably just the wrong bushings on the shock, but as above a little grinding will do. You might try the bushings off the other shock.
  13. Arnoux is correct. Lube it, then hit the back portion of the key and the front will pop right out!
  14. This has several threads. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/60870-new-to-me-1986-tlr200/There is no magical cheap carb fix. Several sites in the UK claim to have pre jetted carbs. The best fix is to properly jet the stock carb as both links have that info. The stock carb is lean on both the main and pilot.
  15. The best sounding bike ever was a XR750 flat tracker. My roommate just happened to leave his for about 6 months while out of state. The neighbors would be annoyed around midnight about once a month, no lights, no front brake and fast as hell. Nothing like a full field of Harley`s running around a mile dirt track! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjI5Ex31Kbw

  17. I am not surprised they were missing. People were stealing the old AJP`s off everything when the new bikes came out with the Formula`s and the first batch of Brak Tech master cylinders. Good luck on the pet cock.
  18. Fantics have been around forever. You would have to post location to get real help.
  19. You wasted your money on the new masters. Nothing wrong with the originals. Maybe a rebuild kit. The Section was actually a fun bike.
  20. The `02 is pretty outdated. A lot of parts are no longer available. A good running one would be 1500 - 1800. At 2500, I would save a few more dollars and get a later model. 2010-2012. At the same time, I loved my 2002. But it was new.
  21. Assuming you have disassembled and soaked the whole body and parts in a carb cleaner overnight or more? Do you have all the parts for the slide, etc. The needle itself could be moving.
  22. Every bike in `93 had a coolant reservoir.
  23. Take an once of anti freeze and add a few drops of oil.
  24. No. you cut off about an inch from the long side. Use a wrench or a socket with the universal joint. Easy peasy if you have a cut off wheel/grinder or a chop saw! Think out of the box.
