Too much oil in the fuel? Bike not being ridden hard enough to burn off the excess oil?

You answered your own question about blocked idle jet! Carb off and proper clean of the jets, then fully synthetic at 80:1 and away you go.
  4. 4 stroke noise does travel further. If a 2 stroke bike & a four stroke both record, say, 100 Db on the sound meter, the 4 stroke will be heard from a greater distance. However i do think in this case a standard evo 4T is pretty quiet.
  5. Thats a stupid & pointless exhaust on that video clip
  6. You don't want to be using any more oil than 80:1, use a fully synthetic oil. Does the bike carburate clean? i.e. does it rev cleanly at all rpm's?
  7. Many bikes are made to look newer than they actually are by the fitting of later plastics. Make sure you know what to look for to identify your model year.
  8. Its a nice bike, but its only worth half that. However, its worth what someone is prepared to pay..........

    Is it red & white?

Over enthusiastic use of the pressure wash, or degreaser type bike wash won't help either.
  12. Why did you decide to convert the bike to twinshock?
  13. The gear lever is out there so you can't accidentally change gear whilst riding the bike in a section. You soon get used to taking your foot off to shift, some people like to angle the lever upwards and change up with their heel.

Must be stator surely, best get the meter out!
  15. A top wheel builder once told me that chain lube on the spoke threads before assembly was the trick.............he was right!
  16. ..............or a 2 stroke
  17. Roughly about a grand, give or take depending on condition
  18. Same problem with mountain bikes too, you can easily have
  19. What was that circlip supposed to be holding in place that fell off the OSSA? And yet another puncture for the x-lite tyre on Raga's bike!
  20. No, just a half pop will do. If you pop yourself right out of the section then you have other fundamental problems to deal with!
  21. The key to getting the rear wheel in the air, especially from stationary is to release the clutch lever sharply at the moment the rear suspension starts to unload. Get this right and the move suddenly becomes a LOT easier.
  22. Most people run a ratio of 80:1. This is 62ml of oil to 5 litres of petrol. Use only full synthetic oil.
  23. Not illegal at all, in fact one "twinshock" bike with a TY250 mono engine has competed in the ACU classic series regularly.
  24. Shame Jack Challoner isnt there to give Dibs something to think about.
  25. Go to beta UK website and have a look on there.
