Is there any other Fraser Honda owners out there. here are some pics of my fraser engine. Size is a bit of a mystery its possibly a 305, i would have to take the top of to measure. it is a bit of a handful to ride . if you look at the barrel you will notice a spacer at the bottom i would imagine it would be even more powerful without it. If anyone has any other information, it would be good if you could reply to this post, or send me a message. As i have never seen another bike like this. If anyone wants to ask me any questions about it, feel free to. Theres also more pictures available.

Fouled a plug in every ride last three rides and 3 plugs today! Bike starts well after new plug and runs great. I can rev through the whole range without hesitation and does not lack power! When I shut the bike off, it wont start very easy. Like 3 to 4 kicks and then it might start or just foul again. Running the stock plug cr6eh9 Notes: Plug is always extremely dry with black sutt adjusted valves recently but it did not resolve issue. Found considerable amount of engine oil today in the air box. Supposedly normal? Before this all started, I was riding one day and when I tried shut off, bike kept running even though the lanyard was …

I've finally found an oil cooler for my RTL, it needs modding for oil line fitment, but should fit inside the front frame rails next to the header pipe. I would really appreciate advice on connection from the engine and back. I see most people have taken the output from the bottom case oil hose point to the bottom of the oil cooler and the hose from the top of the oil cooler to the head banjo point. My question is, will all the oil drain out the cooler and hoses to the sump everytime the engine is shut off and will this cause oil starvation on start for a short period :0( if so, for how long. One final Q, does the oil pump Ok for any size cooler or should it be relative…

OK I am very frustrated at this point. decided to use my 1986 Reflex as a commuter bike for work (11 miles). Yes it is about as comfortable as a tack on a 2x4 set edgewise but 65 mpg is cool. Problem is at high revs any gear under load and also no load, it spits, sputters and does kind of a backfire thing into carb. Really annoying at 50mph and in the dark when it stalls. I have thought fuel issue, carb is CLEAN!!! (many times) tried various settings for air screw. Float adjusted so there should be enough fuel in there to drown an elephant, but not coming out the overflow pipe. Tank filter is clean and new inline filter. Jets are stock 38 - 92 but the main jet ha…

I purchased this TLR some3 years ago from John Lee M/C Acording to John It had been stored for 12 years prior to him buying it. The general condition then was ok, the engine ran well, but the whole bike really needed stripping and brought back to as near original condition as possible. Some markings on the engine and wheels pointed to it possibly being used in the SSDT at some stage and also the engine has RTL250E005169 on it? is this normal? I rebuilt the bike 2 years ago to the standard you can see, and i then went to register it for the road and to cut a long story short discoverd it had been registerd by Honda Uk in 1986 with the reg number C613 UBY. I would be interes…

Some questions for the mechanical meastros! Please forgive me if answers are posted already. My fingers have been walking down google lane all morning but still not sure. So, despite my best intentions to enjoy the bike 'for what it is' - (a poor US hillbilly cousin of kinda decent Euro bike) my desire to practice all the trials stuff i grew up with in the UK overrides my desire to 'trail ride or green laning' which i thought would take priority. The predicted choir that shall be singing "dump the reflex and buy a proper trials bike" please remember the ONLY reason for getting this bike is it's fully street legal and i have to ride past a cop shop to my secr…

Having been unable to find a slimline sherpa to restore I've decided to freshen up the Honda, not much choise really as the spokes and rims are decidely iffy, and whilst the wheels are out why stop there... Anyway, your views on the best approach would be welcome; for instance I'm thinking of a one piece seat/tank unit and preserving the original, and maybe nickel plating the frame. Is this a no-no, are there any sensible mods I should consider whilst it's in bits? Mick Annick

Hi- New member here. I'm an enduro rider, but looking to dabble a bit in trials. My enduro riding buddy just got a newer Beta 300 Evo, and I'd like to pick up a cheap trials bike so we can go do some trials play riding together. Thus, I am considering buying a 1986 Honda TLR200 that won't start for $1000. It has 1200 miles on it, and is in good condition cosmetically. My biggest concern is that I'll need an electrical part that is discontinued to get the bike to run. This could be the pulse generator, CDI, regulator, or what have you. The seller claims that the bike ran last year, but that he hasn't tried to start it since then. He seems trustwort…

Greetings all, I am currently in the market for a smaller displacement trials bike for a beginner rider, and I've recently come across a Honda TL125 that's within the budget. I've done considerable research on this bike and the biggest drawback I've seen is the lack of power to make it competitive; Is there anyone here with this bike who can give me some advice on this machine? Ideally I'd like to know if I could practice on it (beginner here. ) adequately and it would have littletrouble carrying me over smaller logs and ditches, and then eventually do beginner classes in the air cooled trials events. Thanks for your trouble, EM

I've just made a successful transplant of a 1985 RTL250 engine into my standard 1983 TLR200 frame. The carb to cylinder manifold is from the TLR200. The jetting is smaller than in the RTL although I haven't had chance to play with it yet so this will possibly change anyway. Runs great, no problem mechanically except the RTL kickstarter fouls on the frame and does not allow the shaft to rotate. I have had a surf around and can see a few similar engine transplants. In almost all the cases that I can see, the original TLR200 case is used with what looks like a TLR200 lever. The RTL doesn't run a decompressor. The spline on the RTL shaft is much more course than a TLR and …

I have had a honda trials bike in my shed for around the past 7 years with a big box of spares, it was given to me by my uncle. Who in the late 70's and early 80's worked for the HRC trials team as a mechanic. He was given the bike from the factory and said it was a special one off. When I was first given it I got it running but since then it has been covered over. After a little research I believe I have a Honda RTL 360 - http://honda-trials.....a-rtl-360.html Condition wise its not been touched for probably 25 years and does not have any graphics unlike the ones in the above link but would run again with a clean out of the carb. Wondering if anyone knows anymore abou…

Hello friends, yet another noob question..please forgive my continued ignorance and inexperience! I have looked online prior to posting but just got confused by all the conflicting info out there. I am going to try to replace the rear tire myself (never done it before) and have a question regarding rim locks. The bike doesn't currently have one and I run at about 10psi and haven't had any problems (it was like this when I got it). Should I put one in now just to be safe- is that the done thing, or is it ok without? And if so, does the rim lock go in first and then you mount the tire, or do you mount the tire then put in the rim lock? I think I need to drill a ho…
