Just seen that he passed away on the 1st February. Previously imported Scorpa on the back of a very successful Trials Career he will also be remembered as the co-promoter with Martin Lampkin of the Sheffield Indoor. RIP

In threads which discuss what new bike to get, more or less everyone suggests go out and try them to decide, which I totally understand and agree with. But, my question is where am I able to try out these bikes?!? Thanks - Boner

Having not ridden in an ACU trial for 10 plus years I just want to check if there’s anything that has become compulsory in recent years? I’ve read the appropriate sections of the handbook and all I can find is that output sprockets must be covered, chainguards must be as manufactured and about rear sprocket guards in the general bike description section but nothing specific about them in the trials section. Are sharks fin (as there called in road racing) rear sprocket/chain guards required for trials?

Hello there, Can anyone advise me where i could arrange for a 10 year old to try trials riding before i buy a bike. Somewhere around the Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, London, Kent type areas. I know there are some experience day but many seem to be 4+ hrs away and i can't see anything local. Google searches don't really turn up anything good. Do any clubs offer a chance to have a go at all? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, keen to get him interested but want to be sure before buying a bike, Dave

Is there a document available somewhere, or does anyone know, what the rules are governing the bikes competing in the Scott (or the SSDT for that matter)?

Hi all, So this year will be my first ever scott, excited,nervous and a load more emotions are currently running through my mind. I have a good friend who has rode the scott numerous times and tried to explain how he sees it and the best ways to prepare. I am in no way looking to finish as after watching it for the last ten years i know just how hard it is. Hi Guys, Does anyone happen to have a copy of Junior kickstart from 1981. Over the past 15 years i've managed to build up a collection of all the adult and junior editions but 81 is proving impossible. I've tried several people who rode that year but not joy either, if anyone could help or point me in the direction of someone who could it would be greatly appreciated. Hi all, ive decided to buy a trials bike and im after advice as to what i need. (Bike wise, not weightwatchers!) Im 6’ and 18 stone so im presuming 125 bikes probably wont be great for me, but i dont want to end up with anything thats going to be a unnecessary handful. Any help is appreciated

Last Wednesday evening the Bradford club staged the fourth W.B.S Championship trial at the excellent Hagg Farm venue near Skipton on a compact course with stream and climb sections laid out by sponsor Nathan Wrigglesworth and the Bradford stalwarts. Just thirty-nine riders, of all ages, supported the trial which ironically was about the same number that entered the national Allan Jefferies Trial two months ago, a traditional trial with a great history that sadly did not happen simply because of the lack of entries......... Hi, I have just introduced the Mrs to camping and it was successful even with high winds and thunderstorms. So i am just wondering what big event/2/3 day trials people would recommend going to for the remainder of 2018 & 2019? Willing to travel a few hours on a Friday afternoon/night. I am currently not road legal but plans are in place to be so soon and riding mid table at most local clubman events. Already got a Reeth 3 day number for 2019 (canceled due to fire risk 2018) So what/where does every one recommend?

Hi. Got a beta evo which needs a minor job doing. Cant get the back brake to work propperly. All the trials repair places seem to be over Yorkshire way. Most motorcycle mechanics even people i know who are handy with MX bikes dont want to touch trials. If anyone knows anyone local to me who like to fix trials bike please can you post their details? It's gratifying to know that our chosen sport is just about the safest motorsport there is. But nothing is totally safe, and medical events can happen anywhere (especially as many of us are no longer in the first flush of youth). I do think organising clubs could do a little more on this front. I know Golden Valley have a defibrillator that is placed at Section 1, but I only know that from the time I observed Section 1 for them. It has never been mentioned at signing-on or rider's briefing.
