Just wanted to say a big thanks to Andy once again this year for providing some outstanding pictures so quickly from Fort William. Its one of the highlights of the year on TC for me. I think I enjoy it more than the world round reports. The scenery, the sections, the rain!!!! Thanks mate for making it seem like we are there too, even though we are so far away! Cheers, Steve

I m going up to Scotland for the weekend and plan to watch the pre 65 on Saturday and the start of the SSDT on Monday. Can anyone assist me with the route on Saturday & Monday or point me to any links.

Grimbo has been out on the fourstroke quite a bit recently, is this going to be his SSDT mount ?. After a disaster of a debut in 05, can it turn the tables and be the first four stroke to win the event since the sixties ? right man on it, favorite to win the event in my book. Mont, also in with a good chance with Dabill.

I have been fairly quiet on the subject of unofficial riders at the ssdt this year, leaving the voices of others to make the point. HOWEVER - today i received an official letter from the Forestry Commission expressing their concern about the unauthorised use of the forest track along the North side of Loch Lochy on the Tuesday of the event. The Forestry Commission are one of our main landowners who welcome us back year after year and a lot of the land used by the event is owned by them (a lot of it is open hill - they dont own just forests). A formal letter of concern from them requires to be taken seriously. Apparently on Tuesday there was a road traffic accident …

The winker (deliberate typo) who scraped my car, but drove on without leaving a note saying they'd hit me. I always follow the rules that were set down years ago regarding parking at sections - always get behind the white line if there is one or ensure your car is totally off the road. Given where my car was parked over the week and the height of the scrape it was almost certainly a van (and a filthy white one at that) and therefore almost certainly one of the "support vehicles" travelling round and therefore a Trials person who hit it - which makes it pretty disappointing that they didn't have the balls to admit to it.

Hi All, Daft question time: How hard is the SSDT? To put that in more words; I'm an average clubman that rides the clubbie route in Sarf Midlands trials. I've done so (despite a long break) for many years and usually survive a Sunday. I'm pretty fit (4 London Marathon finishes and many, many half marathins, 10k etc) and am unlikely to croak with a week of hard effort. As a follower of the sport for many years, as far as I'm concerned the SSDT is THE trial to do. It's on the bucket list... The question is, is it an attainable goal? Is an average clubmen going to record so many fives and damage themselves so badly as to incovenience others and generally get in the way?…

Somehow I seem to be the invisible man! Does anyone have any pictures of me doing the ssdt this year (only lasted until Thursday!)... Is there anything I can show my peeps back here to prove that it was me in the ssdt? Any pic, no matter how unflattering.....

So after Albert Cabestany's visit last year will he return and try and win the centenary of the event ? will Dougie drag Raga over to ride ? Raga rode in 1999 or 2000 I beleive Fajardo has also ridden before and wouldnt it look good for Ossa to win the centenary at its first attempt in its new form Fuji would enjoy the moors but would Montesa relent and allow him to ride even if he wanted to ? Would make for a fascinating week, the brits could still win even if the above showed up based on last year. any body know if any of the world stars are intending to ride ?

Hi Folks, As it says above, I have managed to get an entry for this years SSDT and as I discovered today I am mega unfit (I blame man flu and christmas beer!) I am trying to ride as much as possible and have started riding the hard route but the trials in my area all seem to be in quarries, don't get me wrong the trials are really good and land is hard to come by but I want to try something that is a little more like the scottish, something which has sections in burns and has a good couple of miles round the loop and a bit of a challenge but not something where I will break myself or the bike. I am willing to travel, 2.5 hours will be my limit. (I live in Gainsbor…

I saw her throughout the week and I have to give credit to this lass for winning the Ladies trophy. She beat the reigning Ladies World Champion - Iris Kramer and also Maria Conway. Donna's a tiny wee lass who you'd never think could hike a bike round the Scottish for six days, but she did. Not only that, but she was always cheerful and had time for a laugh and a bit of banter. She does, however, need some work on her press presentation

What time is it usually through the town ? I'm off to Skye on Sunday on me bike but looking to take it in either going to or coming from...

Going though some old photos and came across some from Ssdt. Mick Andrews on a Majesty yam 182. Bernie Schreiber on bultaco 176. Also some one on a Matchless number 193. who is this person and did he finish .The photo was taken on the Wedensday at Achallader.

A quick question for all you with local knowledge of the Highlands. I will be coming up to the SSDT this year but one of my traveling companions cant stay the whole week so is looking to fly home on Thursday so I will be taking them to the airport, Easyjet fly out of Inverness and Glasgow but which woul be the easiest or most reliable airport to use, Inverness is 30 miles closer by my reconing but as I would imagine it is a smaller airport are the flight s more prone to being cancelled. Any previous experiances welcome.

Does anyone know roughly when we find out if we have a place in the SSDT? I think the anticipation is going to leave me with some sort of mental scarring.... All the best Tom

Many will be aware that Trials Central has provided and operated the official website for the Scottish Six Days Trial since 2015. By mutual agreement with the organising Club, that arrangement has now come to an end. The Club were keen to take the site back in-house and, for me it was an awful lot of work with SSDT week itself being a non-stop run of 16-hour minimum days. I don’t even do that kind of hours for the job that pays the mortgage! It had become an obligation more than something I enjoyed doing and when you stop enjoying something, it’s time to move on and do something else. This is a totally amicable agreement and the Club have full access to everything on…

I was watching the Nevis Radio parc ferme footage this morning on-line. Doug Lampkin appeared to have a massive rucksack, I also didn't see Harry Lampkin in the start queue, so I guess there are 3 possibilities: Harry is not riding, so Doug is carrying extra spares Harry is stowed away in Doug's rucksack Doug is attempting all six days unsupported so has set off with all his food & provisions on day one @andy I hope you are on the case, we need a photo inside that rucksack before the week is out!
