I'm going to drill a small drain hole in the flywheel cover of my Beta 250 4t flywheel cover. Even with a good gasket, water manages to get in due to it leaking around the cable entrance that exits the stator. The flywheel cover on the 4t is alloy and not plastic like it's two stroke counterparts. I was either going to drill a hole on the lowest point of the cover or cut a small hole on the edge of the flywheel cover where it meets the crankcase. What size hole do people recommend ? has anyone else with a 2018 evo found the fuel cap swells up ? been told the 2017 has different threads so wont fit. anyone making them ?

I have a beta Evo 250 2009 front brake isn’t sharp it’s had new front pads gold fren and a master cylinder repair kit but it’s still rubbish any ideas

I recently set up my carb on my rev 3 250 2001,as explained by Billy T found on a previous post. since setting up i'm having trouble starting when cold. Have i over adjusted or under adjusted, or done something else wrong. Also is there a preset setting for the screw to the left of the idle screw. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (the carb has been cleaned and new air filter fitted the fault only been on since i adjusted)

Hi everyone. I have owned my Evo 250 4t from new, but it only has 19hrs on it. I have been told that it is nice a quiet in the past. However, I have always felt that it is a bit too tappety. I have removed the engine and checked the valves and following a few failed attempts the gaps are now definitely as per the manual. But still the rattling continues. can you please have a listen and advise what to check next.

Have a new to me 13 evo 300. Finally mustered the nerve to switch to Map2 setting and found that pressing the button does nothing. It will press down but will not click into the down (#2) position. Is there a process that I'm not aware of? Sweet Bike!

Good day all, I am getting no where trying to bleed the clutch and rear brake, tried both with normal pumping of the levers but not getting any air or fluid to move. Also tried the reverse method on both and no matter how hard i push on the syringe I am getting no fluid in, I can feel the resistance and when I let off the pressure I get some old fluid pull out into the syringe.. Any tips before I have to resort to paying for it to be done.. I only did my zx6r last month and that was a dry system with no issues.. Please help haha Jamie

New to the forum and have had some good advise so far, so thanks to everyone. My latest problem is that the clutch seems to take ages to warm up. I've changed the oil which has helped slightly but it still needs a good 5 - 10 minutes to free up. Its got to the stage where I always have to kick it into gear with the front wheel against the garage wall for fear of lurching off down the road. I did it once and ended up in a heap at the bottom of the garden having smashed through the gate. You only do it once. Anyway if this is normal then i'll live with it. However if anyone has any suggestions i'd be very grateful.

Since buying my little 05 125 the fan has not kicked in when the engine has warmed up. IM not new to beta so i by passed the thermostat and the fan kicks in. So i presumed it must be the thermostat. Just fitted the new thermostat and still no joy. Ran it to the point the bike was going to boil and still no action. I am puzzled as i was certain a new thermostat would fix it. What could be wrong ? Could there be a blockage in my rad ? Help. Ive just tested the circuitry of the old thermostat in a cup of hot water with a volt meter and it does work.

Relatively new to me 2016 EVO 300 4T. Out riding yesterday, bike was running fine. Wheelied to a stop in the fork of the tree, and parked the bike in a wheelie position for a few minutes while I did some trail maintenance. Pulled the bike out of the tree, and couldn't start it. Assumed I had flooded or starved it. Finally, after about 50 kicks, got it started. It ran for a minute then died. Repeated, got it started again. It would run at a slow throttle pace, but would bog when I added more throttle. Thinking I ended up with some trash somewhere in the fuel system. Before I pull apart the carb, I thought I should determine whether this bike has a fuel filter. P…

Strange that there is not one peep about the 2020 Beta Factory models yet...☹️ Anybody heard anything about them yet ?

2004 Rev 3 250 recently changed the fork seals on mine and in doing it undid the drain bolt on the spring side as per the Sherco guide listed on here before. Now I cant get the drain bolt to tighten and talking to Lampkins they would need the fork sent to them to tighten it whihc I havent got enough time to send it and have it returned before the weekend. Has anyone any advice on how to get it to tighten? its a tapered shaft that sites into a tapered seating Cheers

Hi!, 1) Would a 2018 Beta Evo 200 be quite good to ride in the single trails with a seat and larger fuel tank (Level would be: Novice to intermediate single trails)? 2) Would the OEM Trial's tire be good enough for trail riding or knobby is a must at the very beginning of this experience or if I should try with the OEM Trial's tire to see how they react. Mostly rocky trails with roots. 3) I have lost much physical capacity due to health issues and the +/- 75 pounds weight reduction compared to the X Trainer helps me a lot. Ok i finally got a trials bike after years of wanting and searching I got a 97 beta techno yes the purple one now maybe its just me but the brakes dont really work that great it is almost impossible to lock up the rear tire even with clutch pulled and the front is really the same way you really have to use two fingers on lever to do a stoppie any help or suggestions i have cleaned them scuffed them and made them very hot and poored water on them and that kinda worked for a little bit but still not good. help please. thanks.

HI all! my 290 2011 evo died tonight and as no spark! tried disconecting kill switch checked all wiring conectors spark plug and cap! do evos suffer with sator failure? as i had to replace one on my old rev3! also before it died i have had a fault on my fan and it was running all the time even when starting from cold, i did disconect fan switch and it stopped so i left it connected and thought it was better it going all the time than not at all! would fan running all the time had an efect on stator and made it fail? cheers for any replys.

I recall reading a recommendation to drill a small hole in the bottom of a Beta flywheel cover a good while back. Is this still recommended & has anyone any experience to suggest whether to drill, or not to drill - that is the question?

Hi there Im new to this trials riding malarky, having only had a go last friday on my mates Fantic 200, this prompted me to get my own as I had seen the proverbial light, so I got a Beta TR35. It has a few issues which need to be sorted though. Where do people recommend getting there spares from? Have discovered it needs new front wheel bearings, new fork seals (upside down fork seals on a trials bike, who's silly idea was that?!!!) and thats about it i think. Hi there. Just upgraded my old 2012 Evo for a newer 2020 model. It already has a press type kill switch fitted. On my old 2012 bike I replaced the dreaded original frame mounted kill button / headlight switch unit with a lanyard type kill switch. I loved it and it saved me on many occasions when I parted company with the bike. However I constantly felt it was easier just to stall the bike rather than pull the lanyard every time I wanted to stop the engine in a non emergency setting. So on this bike I want to fit a lanyard kill switch as well as the standard kill button. I have taken a photo of the existing kill button wiring. I was planning on just cutting into the …

hi Folks, i think my engine is broke, i ran out of fuel so went to reserve and after re-starting it never sounded quite right, when accelerating and backing off there is a knocking noise which sounds like its coming from the bottom of the engine but could be any where. It feels like i'm down on power and the power is also not as smooth. any suggestion what i should look for, i always think the worse so hopefully one of you guys can point me in the right direction.
