  1. Started by copemech,

I have lots of tools, not always the newest or finest as seems one does to be practicle about these things or you could easily drive yourself into bankrupcy! However, taking the average trials bike as example, there seems one thing that a proper trialsman simply cannot do without for a bit of kit, and that is a proper set of metric allen wrenches! Yes I have a few, lets see, the standard individual set, the compact folding set that goes into the pocket of the camelbak, then the nice long set with the ball ends on the long side that stay in the portable toolbox. Suppose I could add the ones that fit screwdrivers and the ones that fit drive sockets, yet those are less used…

Hello, im getting back into the sport, and need a new helmet. When I did trials about 15 years ago I used a shoei tr trials helmet, and it was great, quality design vents that worked etc. Unfortunately I put it on the end of my handlebars when checking out a section, the bike fell off its stand and punched a neat handlebar sized hole through the shell. Anyway my budget wont stretch to another shoei, so ive been looking at the airohs. They look like kryten from red dwarf designed them, but you cant have everythiing I have a few questions for you. Are the liniings removable? I would hope so, but none of the ads really say. 2nd the vents,…

Anyone got one of these? I'm going to invest in one for when I'm down in the woods for carrying a spare spark plug, tools, pump ect whilst also having a drink on tap (literally). Theyre cheap, light and look very useful http://www.millets.co.uk/rucksacks/hydrati...uct/091745.html

  5. I am slowly planning on my trial riding gear. Now, one thing I've noticed is that there is not much storage provided in most of the riding apparel (pants/ jerseys). I am used to having plethora of pockets in my ADV riding jacket I don't plan to carry a lot of stuff with me, but some essentials ( phone / wallet / car keys ). How do you carry stuff like this while trial riding? Bum bags ( waist packs / fanny packs ), back packs? Which of those do you find convenient?

  9. Started by jonnybmac,

I am unsure as to what clothes I should buy for my sherco. I really like the Jitsie Rail range, but dont know if to go colour coded with my bike. I like the Jitsie T1 Riding Jacket also but dont mind the Alpinestar RJ-5 Jacket either. For colour coding, I like the 2008 jitzie range but dislike the newer trick range, but I cant help but think I'd be riding round in old fashioned gear. Not like it matters but the other problem lies with where to find a set of 2008 clothing. Heres my choices so far, Would love people to recomend me others as this is all I've found that I like at the minute. Jizsie T1 Riding Jacket Jitzie Rear Jitzie Front Alpinestar RJ-5 Jacket Alpine…

Does MX trousers and jerseys differ much from trails equivalents. MX gear seems better value and more options.

I’m needing some new trials pants. I tried on some mots, although the waist was fine, they assume my legs are like chop sticks. It felt like they were sprayed on my legs, like skinny jeans. can anyone recommend some makes of trials or enduro pants that are a bit baggier, more of a comfort fit for us who don’t have such an athletic figure?

I'm going to do the IOW two day next weekend, and I've signed up to do the road route. I have an Airoh TTR helmet currently, which doesn't have a slide out visor. I'm considering picking up a Hebo Zone 5 for £85 to use when I do more road work as it has the visor integrated. Do most people just use MX/Enduro goggles (I have plenty of them already)? Seems like a right PITA to me...

Its time to replace my trials trousers, I did this last year with some Clice replacements, only for them to melt like a plastic bag brushing once on hot exhaust. Can anybody point me in the direction of a brand that might last, not too loud, or are they all made in the same Spanish factory with just different prints. I like the look of the Rialtto one's but I believe they are discontinued..

Garne boots are a good fit for me but they do not offer a lot of protection. Once aged a bit, they feel like bedroom slippers so I want something with more protection. I have been using MSR dual sport boots but they are obsolete. I just ordered some Alpinestars but when I tried them on, they are too narrow in the ball/ toe area and skinny in the calf area. Reviews suggest that SIDI is also small in the toe area. Is there another brand that is wide in the front, has plenty of room in the calf and offers better protection. How is the fit with Forma? One article reviewing trials boots even recommend these as trials boots. Has anyone tried them? htt…
