the switch is just a switch i think, it either passes current or it doesnt. when i tested mine the softer setting doesnt pass current so i figure if i remove it then its stuck on the softer setting. only bike i could tell a difference on was my 250 sherco.
  3. add John Moffatt as a friend, its in one of his postings tonight
  4. Seems to be some confusion in the highlands. When i said i liked no stop i meant the observing rules not the blinkin rain......
  5. John Moffat said on facebook its cancelled Andy so i doubt its wrong.

ok taff the frame tube just below the rad is the same diameter as the bars so just fit it there then you can still play with it.
  7. Perce has the right idea . I broke the knuckle on my right hand by trapping it between the bar end and a rock last year. I had domino grips on and the end is quite thick. It would have been a lot worse with bar ends fitted. educate the rider to fix the problem.

based on the 2012 model if you remove the switch its then set to the softer map. just removed the switch from my 2013 Gasser and thats the same.
  10. skf are expensive but they do last longer like 8/10 months. Or get the cheap ones off ebay and change every month !
  11. this maybe worth discussion seems more practical if the judgemental aspect is less critical

  14. with weather since Christmas it may well be condensation. Warm engine into water barely above freezing ? or where have you routed the breather may be from jet wash
  15. if you hadnt i would have had to say that !
  16. cheers Andy
  17. what? i spent years developing a secret identity and your going to just tell every one !!! :-) at the minute i think environmental issues, MSA / Road Traffic Act and lack of youth new starters present a far greater risk to trials as we know it than petty in fighting over which rules we prefer. I was being sarcastic with the yawn but there are bigger issues to address which we choose to ignore.
  18. 2010 was a handful 2011 /12 seem smoother and meant to be softer than 290. However id question why bother making it if its smoother.
  19. I was hoping somebody would start a topic on this cant believe we haven't discussed it before ......... yawn.
  20. I saw this via facebook. The club have run the event before without issue and had worked with the police for this years event so certainly were not expecting this approach. I then watched the news about the police forces merging in Scotland and wonder if the change in approach is related? Would it kill us to have quick release legal number plate ? At present we rely on police goodwill for any trial in the uk with roadwork.
  21. glad you have another bike Guy. Keihins are much more sensitive than dellortos. Id start by lowering needle clip. how far out is mixture screw ?
  22. back on topic 4rt is best current bike on the road.
  23. my two best bikes on the road were a 303 fantic in 88 and the tyz in 98/99. In 88 Glen Scholey was near me on an rtl. As a much better rider he left me for dead on the moors. on the road the rtl did about 40, i was doing 70 at least ! nothing passed me, the bike was geared up so every section was first but it flew. the tyz on standard gearing was rapid, you could hold it flat out with the choke on. We left fersit and were late and my mate says i think we'll lose time. He had a 270 GG, i put the choke on and was crossing the road on foot in the town when he arrived !
  24. that was like Ham2 the early years.......
  25. shop in salisbury is likely Bob Gollner. i had the last tau engined jcm and rode in the 87 ssdt. it was similar to the vega but obviously diff motor. same air filter shock was corte cosso i think with a linkage which looked like a yam but not as good. Mine also had same forks as a txr aprilia.
