I am soon in need of a new van , currently have a 04 kangoo , which have had from new and has been very very good. Am thinking of getting a new version kangoo (will buy a new van which ever make i get) but can anyone tell me if the new shape berlingo/partner is bigger than the new kangoo as regards getting a trials bike in straight rather than diagonal and is it easier to get 2 bikes in the berlingo than the kangoo? Don't think the peugeot/citreon reliability will be a problem on a new van but do the have any issues i should know about? Dont want a bigger van , had a scudo a few years ago and as i drive around all week with the van being empty it seems pointless…

I am looking to buy a new van and could do with some help from those with van experience. My yard stick for a van is whether it will take a trials bike... although the lack of trials in France dictate this is really not a viable argument... However on that basis what is best overall small van , a Fiat cargo or a Ford Connect. Cheers

My long wheelbase Citroen Relay decided its time for a new injector pump a couple of days ago so I've hired a small Fiat Doblo van for the week to get me around. The most important factor this morning was whether I could get the fatlass in the back for tomorrow which didn't look likely when I opened to back doors earlier. I put the bike in backwards and sideways and it fitted in just fine, head room was also fine even with full lock and there's plenty of tie points to hold her down. The van drives really well, there's plenty of room in the cab and lots of pockets/storage. Its nippy as you'd expect and incredibly quiet even at speed. Hope this helps anyone who ma…

I bought a carrier not so long ago from a reputable dealer (name removed for fairness, but a major name). The carrier came zinc plated and is now covered in surface rust. Although the carrier is not going to break is does look particulary crap on the back of my car. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am tempted to take it off and paint it but shouldn't the zinc plating prevent this......anyway im sure hamerright wont take to the zinc straight off.

im after a car that i can put mt trials bike into a wheelchair access doblo seems perfect a ramp lowered floor 2 seats in the rear for the wife and kids when they come to observe now for the spanner in the works i have a budget of 2500 cant have a trailer or rack where i live im surrounded by pikeys thanks for any help you may be able to give

Hi Has anyone tried putting 2 trials bikes in the back of Vito compact dualiner? Can you get away with folding the seats forward and taking the single one out? Or do you need to remove all three seats or go for the long wheelbase? Cheers Smudger

After weighing it all up went for a rack in the end, had nowhere to store a trailer properly... but looking at it now where do my existing electrics go once the rack bar is in behind the towbar.. do you just bend the electrics bracket?

The time has come to renew the rear tyres on the Sprinter. The std Vaneao ones are ok on the road but are useless on wet grass or even a slight bit of mud. Not looking to go off roading just to be sure i can get out of a venue. Sometimes its spinning on wet grass on the flat So what would the team recommend ? Needs to be ok for the M.O.T. btw. Thanks

I thought some of you might like to see how I transport my bike around. I don’t have a truck or trailer and was not even considering getting one just to haul my bike around, so I designed and built this one and have used it, with no issues, for about a year now. I’ve read others describe something similar, but I had never seen photos of what it looked like, so as an architect, I thought I’d design and make my own that’s simple, effective and affordable. I drive a Mini Cooper S and first looked at off the shelf carriers but all I found, in the US, were overly large and cumbersome plus they required a 2” hitch setup. Citroen Berlingo or Peugeot Partner seem to be the obvious choices for a bike-carrying van. However a lot of the older/cheaper ones are in an awful state as they seem to appeal to builders. I've noticed a few nice Renault Kangoos advertised which look to be in much cleaner condition. Perhaps they appeal more to flower shops and the like. Has anyone used a Kangoo? Does a bike (just one) fit in OK?

I'm thinking of getting a Dave Cooper van rack for my bongo, it has an 85kg nose weight which is probably better than many vehicles that use racks but it has a fair bit overhang past the back axle. Has anyone used a trials rack on a bongo. It will be to carry a montesa Cota 247 initially Cheers

The Erde bike trailer will stand up on its end which would allow me to store it... Has anyone done this and got a system (caster set, etc) to then manoeuvre it where you want it to go. If I could tip it up and then wheel it that would be perfect for where I can store it.....

my old insurer has decided not to cover my trials bike 2007 pro,which is registered, as it is a "competition motorcycle". they always have in the past but for some reason they have stopped. Are there any companys that will insure me? Anyone have experience of this? and Does household insurance cover this bike to sit in the garage if i inform them, (they do cover my mountain bike)? cheers wayne

Hi Just bought a 2003 sherco 250....... long story but basically never drink and ebay. I know nothing about trails, me and a mate are going to get the bike on saturday. Just wanted to know how to strap in down on a standard type trailer. And it their is any way to make a normal trailer better to transport trails bikes? cheers Andy
