  3. I got myself a towbar and adult bike rack from Autowbars (My link) in Bradford and can definately recommend the guys there. I got the car booked in and dropped it off with them on the day. I then went straight over the road to the lovely cafe and had some breakfast and several cups of coffee to pass the time. Then 2 hours later the towbar was on, the bike rack fitted, and the number board, number plate, and strappings, all ready. They gave me a run down on how to fit it all together and also some tips on strapping the bike down. Then yesterday was the test day for using the bike on it and I took the bike out to Swaine Woods in Horsforth for my first ever time riding a t…

I've got a concern regarding Tow bar nose weights. I've a tow bar fitted to my van. When shopping around I found most tow bar manufactures advised max nose weight of 70kg. My beta weights 65kg approx. The Dave Cooper tack fits nice and tight on the tow bar. The other day I got caught out with a speed bump with the bike on the back. I can't imagine how much the nose weight increased by when going over the bump. After stopping to check 1 of the tie downs had come very loose but also noticed the the tow bar had slightly dropped. I took it to get checked and It had moved only a few millimetre and had to re-tighten the fixings.

Hi guy's, i just got my new rack to bolt onto my girlfriends corsa, the thing is when i put the bike on the bike wants to lean right into the boot, whats the best way to strap her down also i take it the the two removable parts just sit in the bar that bolts to the towbar, would these not need a pinch bolt of some sort to stop it bouncing out or do they sit in fine? , sorry for the daft questions, i have not yet used the rack yet. Infact any pics of your bike strapped on would be fantastic. Cheers, Steve

Hi I'm a bit stuck for transport at the moment so am thinking about hiring a Vauxhall combo van (company only supply these or astras) for the weekend. Anyone know if I can fit a bike in without removing anything? Any suggestions as to the best way to fit it in? Corner to corner, need to compress forks etc.? Totally new to using small vans like this so any help at all appreciated, thanks.

Hey everyone quick question, i have been strapping my bike into van by putting front wheel up against bulkhead then running 2 ratchet strap from handlebars to anchor points left and right on bulkhead. Seemed pretty easy and held bike solid. Mate of mine said this is a no go as will damage front forks (presume because they under compression while transporting) But couple of other guys at club said its fine. Who is right ? Hopefully its fine as its def easiest way I've found to hold bike securely but if not how else does anyone strap bikes up? Thanks Matt

Does anybody carry there bikes to trial in a people carrier? If so then which ones work best? I am thinking that it would have to have either flat folding seats or removable seats and it would have to be quite tall and long. If i change my car for a people carrier (something i never thought i would do) then i would be looking at around the

My company car is up for renewal, I have a nice comfortable Passat saloon with toys and DSG gearbox. I towed a trailer initially but I have been using a rack on the back of the car of late which is far more convenient, the bike rack is fine and travels well but I am never completely comfortable with the bike on the back of the car. I have been wondering lately whether to buy my own vehicle instead of getting a company one and purchase a car where I can carry the bike inside. I would be looking for a four seater vehicle as I would have to have this for work, although seldom travel with more than a passenger and would be looking at something 3-4 years old. It would seem…

I know this has been asked before but I can find anything recent that helps. I'm thinking of getting a van and wondered which was the smallest that would carry a full size bike and a beta 80. I've been looking at the partner at around a 12 reg so hopefully this would fit them in?

As I was researching for my wee project I tripped over quite a few Trials bikes on trailers behind motorcycles, but they seemed well scattered. I figured starting a thread for pics or links if you know of any elsewhere would be a good thing. So here's mine....

I picked this up on another Forum, to transport your Trials bike to events Would it be ok?
