tried the search. 2003? Beta Rev 3 Stripped the forks to Helicoil an axle pinch bolt thread. right leg has no spring in it only a damper cartridge. left has spring and fixed damper, no adjustment. I assume this is normal but seemed strange. What weight and how much oil in which leg? Son is Expert club level, weights about 175 lbs. Wanted to reassemble tonight, but am away from being able to contact Ron C, and lost my notes at home. Ron said measure down from to instead of by oil volume cc. I just don't have the numbers. tks, kevin j minnesota

Hi after cleaning out my carb several times I'm still getting the dreaded dribbling problems,I've checked the float height and from what I can tell it seems ok but a bit tricky to measure, also I may have inadvertently moved the air mixture screw how crucial is this and will it cause engine wear damage? Can you send the carb to lampkins for any kind of modifications?

I'm looking to purchase my first trials bike. My question is, and I have never rode a trials bike, would the 300SS be too much for me? I currently ride a KTM 300xc, no racing, never have, just enjoy riding. The KTM has treated me well, i'm more of a lugger than revver and I'm comfortable with the power. Along with that, I've enjoyed off road riding for about 20 years so I'm not too new to the sport. I don't have plans to compete, just playing around in the hills and valleys by me. To add into the mix, I weigh around 200 pounds geared up. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and thank you.

Good afternoon all, in new to the forum so I hope I'm putting this in the right place. I've recently acquired a beta rev 3 2000 model that had a few issues. The wiring on the bike had been chopped and changed and generally a right mess, so I have stripped the old wiring and have now attempted to put it all back together. My stator has a loom attached to the CDI, 2 come out of the CDI onto the coil. The remaining 2 wires from my stator are yellow (plugs into the reg/rec) and black (presume this just wires to my kill switch? Coming from my reg/rec I have 4 wires... I would like to wire in my fan/thermostat. However I'm not quite sure how to do this, or sure what else needs …

Can anyone post a pic of what a flywheel holding tool looks like? I sheared my woodruff key yesterday causing my bike to missfire and kick back when trying to start it, this resulted in part of my engine casing breaking to bits (Doh). After having repaired the damage (

Hi All, New to this game again after a long lay off, bought an 2002 270 Rev3, but am at a bit of a loss as it's obviously loads different than my Majesty and Fantic 240 were 11 years ago. My questions are: (sorry there's loads) 1) Do I need to fill the radiator up? Where do I fill it, how often and how much? 2) How often do I need to check the engine/clutch oil? where do I check them? What should I use and how much? 3) How often should I change the sprocket and chain, and fork seals, as I see this quite often on nearly new bikes!! but I don't know where to look for wear? 4) What petrol/oil mix should I be using? I've been told 35:1 by some places and up to 70:1 by o…

Hi, I know its like asking "What's the best flavour ice cream" But is the 300 evo soft or not? I am an average rider , getting on in age , and always sing the virtues of 200 Betas, but they are like hens teeth... Loads of good looking 300's around , for reasonable money... But are they too fiery ?? Owner replies please.

  12. So how is everyone liking there new Evo's? I'm saving for the 290 near for end of the year, so I'd like to get feedback from people who have put some miles on it. How is the power on hills compared to the 270 Rev? Is the motor quite a noticable improvement over the 270 which you can't really complain about? How long of a ride can you get from the little tank? Trail riding average I'm guessing 1hr???? Trials about 1.5hr?? So ya, just brag about your new bike, I'd like to hear the goods and the hopefully few bads! Thanks guys! Cheers

Never been this stumped before and out of ideas now! Hoping someone's come across this and can help. Problem started about three months ago. Bike died while out practicing. walked a section, came back and it wouldn't start. Suspected the stator so fired it off to Steve Hardaker of Motoplat UK for a test and/or rewind. Got it back rewound but still no spark. Removed kill switch, checked HT coil ground, and wiring. all seemed fine so assumed the CDI was my problem and bought a new one. still nothing. bought new coil, plug cap and plugs. No difference. Started doubting the stator fix so contacted Steve again. he kindly said he would test the whole system on his test rig if I…

  15. Hi All, I have just replaced the Stator in my 2005 Rev 3 270cc bike. This is a 4 wire stator. The Red Wire= Is AC supply to the CDI. The Brown Wire= is Ground return for the CDI. The Black Wire= Is Trigger for the Timing to the CDI. The Yellow Wire= Is AC to the Reg for 12 Volts DC to feed the Lights and the Horn. To test the Ignition circuit measure between the Red and the Black, you should see 321 K Ohms. This is one winding and neither the Red or the Black connect to Ground. Also I tested the Inductance of the Red / Black circuit. On the bike and within the magnetic field of the Flywheel. I measured 820mH. Outside the Magnetic field a massive 1.5H. To test the Y…

My Dad and I both are looking to upgrade our current rides. He has a 97 250 beta techno, and I ride an 02 Beta rev 3 270. He is currently looking at a 2007 beta. I have just started my research. I have awhile before I make my purchase. We both like how our bikes have so much torque and are smooth.... not jumpy. He rides nov/int and I ride int/sp. Is there a timeline somewhere that shows what model years were what? I have read that Beta jumps around from year to year making one bike for the clubman, and the next year for the world class rider. What years should us clubman look for and what year should we avoid? I think I will be looking at bikes in the 07-2011 range. Wha…

Do aftermarket reeds have a noticeable effect around idle rpm? Smoothness and stall resistance. Which are best in this area? Boyesen Power or Carbon Tech? I'd expect the two piece Power reeds to be best for this but don't have experience of either. I've recently removed a flywheel weight, and find it much better in many ways but less smooth near idle and easier to stall. Not a big issue but if a reed change helps then it seems worth it.

Sorry, i'm sure this has most probably been on here before, but i want to know peoples veiws on the Beta Evo 4T 300, against a standard Montesa 4RT. I'm on my second 4RT now and had a 08 Beta Rev4 in between, as much as i liked the Rev4, i found that the 250 engine just somewhat under-power. So what's your actual experiences, (experiance please, now't with this armchair expert stuff . Regards GaffaMont.
