Bultaco

For my M92 project I have the offer of a barely used Dellorto, from a 2003 Gas Gas pro 300. I havent got it to measure yet but I think the spiggot OD is 31mm. Does anyone know if this is right and what carb rubber I need to fit to the two stud amal fitting? Does anyone in the UK sell a rubber for an amal to dellorto conversion? Cheers Hoodie.

Right folks can anybody answer this for me please. I thought all bultaco 340cc models had a six speed box, is this correct ? In my area there is a bultaco 340 but the owner claims its only a 5 speed ? is this some hybrid or did bulto make the 340 in both 5 and 6 speed versions ? cheers

Gentlemen Your help would be appreciated to help me locate the various parts of this tubeless tyre inflation valve assembly. The assembly comprises the following parts: Main Stem housing valve Two rubber washers (one either side of sealing strip?) One domed metal washer (between lower rubber washer and knurled ring) One knurled metal ring (between domed washer and wheel rim) One nut (external to wheel rim) One valve cap (obvious) Ther is no spacer with this assembly and the assembly appears a little deep inside the rim.

Hi everyone can anyone tell me the correct colour for a 199a and a 198a? Not sure if they are all blue or all red or silver or......! The 199a looks like the frame is light blue, with matching tank, but the bottom of the forks are just polished! The 198a's frame looks silver with light blue tank? the forks at the bottom are black! The 198 has a polished bottom end with a black top where as the 199 has a black bottom and a polished top! Anyone tell me the colour codes as I am just going to send the frames for painting. My mate and I are at logger heads. I have a 159 Sherpa T I'm overhauling to ride . My current stead is a Italjet 350T. But decided to get a bully. Now do I fit the genuine tank to my restoration project or do I go with the later plastic tank and seat from a later bike. Parts are easier to get for a 199. My problem is that the bike was fitted with a '71 tank and unknown seat. Possibly alpina? I want to fit the 199 tank but my mate say's I should keep the bike original.I don't have a 159 tank. Have had this bike for a few years now, and have decided to put it into action. i have a few questions that i hope can be answered please. (1) the bike is fitted with elect ignition and different flywheel (see photo) - can anybody tell where the flywheel has come from please. (2) does anybody know the weight of a std 325cc flywheel please - would like to compare with the one fitted. (3) is the miller frame geo any different to the standard please, or just better material - i'm pretty sure that the rake and trail are the same (sammy's input on the std frame). the rear triangle section looks slightly different. Anyone help on this one, I have a 198a with an unstamped engine that works fine (but looks like someone has taken the number off deliberately!) found a pair of similar numbered engine "198a" casings to match the frame number, started stripping the unstamped engine that fits into the frame fine and just wondered before I get carried away if all the internals will fit into the "a" engine? I am told that some of the internals are slightly different but not to sure which ones. I think I need a shorter kick start shaft and a slimmer outer casing if anyone can help. Also is it good practice to change all bearings as there is 2 on one side and 1 on the other. Thanks

Hi anyone help with the chrome on my forks, just rebuilding a 199 for fun use then when I get the hang of these things again will start in local trails. Problem are the forks! There is some pitting in the chrome, they did not leak any oil when in use (before strip down) but will more use mess up the seals. Is it an expensive job to get them re-chromed.

I've got an early Sherpa 250 that I want to restore but I'm a little unsure of the exact year, can anybody date this frame no for me? B-1000550 I'm thinking it's a 66 but don't really know, the bike has the alloy rims, the tank was made in red gel coat then painted the Bultaco blue colour (was this standard practise?) Unfortunately the engine has gone "walkabout" but I know it was a radial head 4 speed. The bike was never road registered, when new it was 1st prize in a trial in Aberystwyth (mid Wales) and the lucky winner didn't want it so sold it to the person I bought it off, I then left it in a barn for the last 18 years! (yes I know shame on me!)

Hi, all - I'm just trying to MOT my '73 Sherpa T for a bit of pootling around in Dorset and the MOT tester has identified a few loose spokes. I think they'll tighten up fine but I've no idea what size of spoke key to buy - does anyone have an idea, please? Thanks & regards - Mike

Hi all. Had a notion to build myself an early 70s sherpaT for nostalgic reasons. First bike I fell for was a model 91 Sherpa T when I was 8. Always wanted one and finally got myself a an m92 frame. This is the starting point for a long term project. I was wondering how the engines vary accross the 70s and what range of engine numbers I should be looking for to get one that is compatible with this frame. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Here is a picture of my brand new Sherpa T. My Dad called me about a year ago and said a friend was selling a Bultaco in mint condition. So off I went with cash in hand. When I got there it was far from mint. But it was all there. Loaded it in my truck and let it sit in my garage for 6 months. It took about a year to restore. New paint everywhere. A lot of polishing (on the bike). A lot of headaches mainly with the swing arm. My wife seemed really impressed with the results Oh well maybe my friends will like it. Critisism allowed this is my first restore. Oh crap im turning into my Dad.

Hi, i have what i think is a Sammy Miller glass fibre replacement Sherpa tank for a 199. Someone said they knew it was a SM tank because it has no recesses for the round Bultaco Stickers. I have 3 questions - Is it ok to paint a glass fibre tank? If ok to paint what is the Red colour used on 199's? Is it ok to spray laquer over the top of the decals? Cheers

Hey all, I am rebuilding a M199 with a 2 main bearing crankshaft. Has anyone ever converted this engine to take 3 main bearings as per the M199A? It looks like I just need a new seal holder from a 3 bearing engine and then a different shorter spacer for the seal to run on, from a 3 bearing engine also. Any help appreciated :-)
