Hello I bought a 4RT about a month ago and it have run wonderful until last monday when after a gentle wash it refuses to start. I have in order: -Replaced the spark plug with a new one. Yes there are bright sparks. -Measured the ignition coil resistance (pg 6-3 in manual OK). -Measured the ignition pulse generator resistance (pg 6-4 OK). -Measured the PGM-FI system connector (pg 6-5 OK). -Connected the PGM-FI warning unit (pg 6-6). When I put the power switch on and run the check I first got a short blink then after about 2 seconds a long blink followed by two short blinks then again after a few seconds a long blink followed by two short blinks. Looking at pg 6-…

Hi Just a question about my 4 RT. I just know it needs a few kicks because there is no battery fitted. I'm an ex Jedi after all...I know this. I've searched but can't find anything regarding the rights and wrongs of fitting a batty to the bike. Want to run up the FI prior to kicking. There are a few options these days that are super compact, so I wondered if any of you have done this as a mod? Any electrical issues if plumbing into the generator output? The bonus would be that I could run some lights off it as I keep getting caught out early eves. Thanks. Chris.

Hi, I bought a Bultaco 350t Sherpa last year and after many hours of knuckle grazing managed to rebuild and get it road registered. I'm now taking my first tentative steps in trials riding. I've been offered a Montesa/Honda 348 as a project at a reasonable price that will need some work. I'm not sure of the age or anything. Are parts readily available and are there any pitfalls I should be aware of? I learnt a lot with the Bultaco and this forum was huge help so any advice gratefully accepted. Neil

I know the Repsol 4rt bike comes with the carbon parts and Fat Bars etc, but does it include the laptop software etc for different engine settings, i believe the earlier year repsols did but want to know whether the 08 Repsol does and if not how much does this cost and is it worth buying, cheers iggy.

  6. To carry out my other projects, I bought a 3rd 315R. A 2002 model. The objective of this one is to make a replica completely overhauled motorcycle, precise and efficient as the original for regular riding. The original fork (in very good condition) went on the Ogawa RTLF Replica. The fork (black tubes) of the 4rt (now RTLF) takes place after a major overhaul on this 315R The shock absorber is completely overhauled (gaskets, buffer, drain, pressure, ball joints) New linkage, new rockers. Carbon swingarm protection, and carbon kevlar fork guard. Swingarm pad, crown guard, front number plate, gas barrel, original grips. The covering receives a two-component varnish resistan…

I’m wanting to learn the most efficient way of changing the oil on my 4rt. Taking it to the bike shop is getting expensive! Has anyone ever done a video? This is the first thing YouTube has ever let me down! Im hoping to learn the tips and tricks of the trade to make it as easy as possible. Thanks in advance.

Hello. I bought a brand new 4 Ride in April last. Ran it in for 260 miles before servicing it prior to a weekend trail riding in N Wales. The oil filter was bone dry with a dribble of oil sitting inside the filter housing. Aaaargh! Fortunately I still had my old CRF for the weekend and the 4 Ride went into the dealer a couple of days later. They said that there was no issue that they could find as they replaced the filter, ran the bike and opened it up again to find oil as they would expect to see. Vaguely reassured, I took it to France for three days trail riding and then to Devon in December, nearly 400 miles. Took it apart for an oil service and found…

Hi all, I have a 2015 4RT. I ride rocks quite a lot and my bike is gaining scars quite quickly in the shock linkage, footapegs and engine case areas. I know the bike needs a stronger larger sump guard but am struggling to find one that fits properly. I purchased one from H&D, a great bit of kit, but the bolt holes did not line up with my frame, so I returned it. (Great service by the way.) On enquiring with my dealer, he stated that the 2015 bike is slightly different from the pre 2014 bikes and that no one produces a sump guard for it yet. I have enquired with Splatshop but they say the part numbers for the CSP guard are the same from 2005 to 2015 and …

I've seen (and it's been mentioned on this forum) about the 2017 300RR, but I've not seen anything in English. Also, I've not seen anything about pre-ordering a RR, the same as I did with the standard 4RT and Race Replica (Repsol). Is this an indication that Honda UK might not be bringing in the 300RR 2017 this year?

I fancy a Repsol 4RT for no other reason than I like them, I have been riding trials about 2yrs now and I am always in the last 1/4 of the results on the clubby B/easy course, I currently ride a 2010 250 Gas Gas which I have had to calm down by fitting a low compression head, slow throttle and dropping the front 1 (I now really enjoy riding the bike). I'm changing bikes in the new year and it's between the 4RT and a new Gas Gas. What are your thoughts on a 4RT for a crap rider ?

Hiya, my 06 4rt has started cutting out at full throttle a few weeks ago. I've changed the tea bag filter and checked the fuel flow output and it's ok. New plug, swapped the throtte body for a known good one. It now struggles to build revs at low end and top end when throttle is opened quickly. Checked resistances at 32 pin Ecu plug. Only iignition coil - primary out of tolerance. Reading 2.2 ohms instead of 2.6 to 3.2 ohms. I have followed as many threads as I can but hope someone can shed some light on this problem. Thanks

I have been over to the intros to say "hello" and now hoping to pick up some much needed advice as I start out on getting my "new" 247 up and running again. The frame number is 21M 12511 which I understand makes it late 1973 or early 1974 There are a few "issues" including non-original bits such as the engine, plus some bodging in the past. For example, the rear mudguard is too high and has caused the damage to the seat, plus the front wheel appears to be the wrong way round. There is also a fair amount of mechanical work needed as every wear and tear item looks to be thoroughly worn out. I can't wait to get started!

A couple of local lads bought a new 4RT each a few months back and are having issues with the fork seals. One bike sprung a leak on one leg and it was replaced under warranty. It has now blown the other seal and the other bike has also now got a leak from one seal Neither bike has had hard use as they are both novice standard and just go out and play on them, not ride trials. They've only been used half a dozen times. Another rider who had a new 4RT has said it's an issue and replacing the seals with new standard Montesa / Honda seals won't cure the problem, you have to use green seals. The dealer is miles away but will only provide standard replacements under w…
