  1. Started by cota kid,

To cancel a World Round just over a month before it is scheduled to take place is unbelievable. You would expect it of Octagon in the indoor but not the outdoor series and as yet no official explanation has been given on the FIM trial website. I'm sure there are plenty of disgruntled riders, factories and of course trials enthusiasts who have already made arrangements and gone to great expense to attend the Spa event, which was to be the final round in the series. These people, and I'am please to say I am not one of them, deserve an explanation and it better be a good one....

I have just been browsing through the Trial online site, and looking at the provisional entry list for France. According to the list there is no sign of Pat Smage! Is he missing this round?

Hope this is ok to publish on here (from Trialworld site) but please delete if not. * you will need to use google translate (or other) So, seems pretty much NO ONE likes WTC as it is yet NO ONE in a position to do anything to make changes!! How can this be???? https://www.trialworld.es/la-fim-se-plantea-no-haya-mochileros-mundial-2020/

Well that's that sorted then! Glad at least I now know and won't be going to the airport and hanging around on the offchance I might fly. I now have two days booked off work and nothing to do Well actually I have plenty to do and a lot of it TC related. Be a shame to miss the opening round to see how much controversy there is with the new rules, but it's the riders stranded trying to get out there I feel sorry for. For me it's just a hobby. For them it's their bread and butter

I get wound up when people make rash statements about events they weren't at so I am going to do the same. Over the past few weeks we have had all and sundry playing hell about hard events but sureley the Portugese event has shown that it is a bigger farce when things are too easy. Jack Challoner 7 points, 8th place sorry its just not on. I will wait to be shot down in flames

Just a few obsevations on scores on day 1 in Bangor. Adam Raga is without doubt a cut above the others indoor, precision skill and control but in the outdoor his score is 20% more, I can't get my head round that? Doug had the most cleans 17 vs. 15 for fuji, expect this to tell today, he will win. Why is grimbo twice the top boys scores? Is it because he has been training alot in Spain? Expect a much better result day 2. Come on you other brits, Shaun Morris scores his first point although well behind his old rival Blazusiak, Sam Connor has at least not finished 15th or 16th, he needs a good score although I know he has an injured ankle. What is David Pye doing, one 3 a…

  10. 7 rounds for the WTC? F1 is trying to extend the championship and we are contracting... Has the world gone mad? I don't really know the rules but it seems to me that the current rules have bred a kind of super rider that 0.01% of us can aspire to... This WTC is so far removed from the grass roots of the sport. Myself as an also ran rode in the same trial as Bernie Schreiber in the 80's .. We could relate to the severity of the sections and fail suitably. These days we need to actually need to return to work after the weekend event. So why has the WTC come down to 7 rounds....I guess it's all about money..... So yes, the world has gone mad!!!!!

Well unfortunately we are still on the stop / no stop debate and as others have said there is more to fixing the current decline in participants in the sport generally than the rules to be run at a world championship event. SO can we first of all limit this topic to ideas to increase sales of bikes or participation excluding changing the rules to your preference in terms of stop / no stop. There are plenty of other threads running for that debate. Just had a thought today about quality of the bikes we buy. The current bikes are very very good at what they do but the quality issues continue, although this does vary manufacturer to manufacturer year to year. Trials bikes…

Has anyone been here before to spectate?? If so how was it and would you recommend going? I'm thinking of driving down with Adam at end of August but not sure on accessibility of venue etc etc. I've been to a French WTC round before and it was amazing - practically took over the whole village for the week. I missed Penrith as I was away this weekend but luckily my wife and dad took Adam so he still went and loved it... Now I'm wanting to go again and Isola 2000 is last round this year so needs to be there. Anyone else going this year? Thanks

Thought I'd set up a poll to see if our votes tally up with the ones at http://www.indoortrials.com (we can see who is winning as the votes come in)

Having just seen the review these comments (not word perfect) had me sipping hard on me alcohol. 1) Gas Gas was lucky this year but will soon have to go 4t. 2) Mark Freixa's cards are marked; his performance is under close observation for the season ahead - possibly Bou or Fajardo to take over. 3) Cabestancy disappointed with his bike (comment i think was made on the third round) Antonio Bou's surname is it prenouced, "Boo" or "Bow"? Kenichi name pronunciation was a little dodge. I buy Duke because i like their product and because there is no alterative that i'm aware of? Overall a very good review, later commentary could be a little less monotone.
