A friend of mine recently found a copy of Sammy Millers catalogue with a price list from 1973. Now for those of you around at the time, this was the bible for any "bling" parts for you Spanish trials weapon, with loads of lightweight goodies on offer However, how many can remember how much things cost back then ???? So, I have scanned 3 pages and for a bit of fun, take a guess at the 1973 prices of the following items.... 1. The Sherpa mudguard stays (Item FM2) 2. The Ossa chainguard (MAR3) 3. Plastic front number plate (BSM)26 4. The fibreglass slimline kit....this came with seat and an alloy downswept tailpipe 5......and finally, the Bultaco Highboy frame kit…

For some reason we seem to be getting reports that the Normandale - Traditional series is undergoing major changes, with classes being dropped etc This is not true - and has certainly not been gleaned from any official source. To date - No major changes in this popular and successful series are being planned

Can any body help me please. I have just fitted a wide Tiger Cub swinging arm to a BSA Bushman frame but the bantam hub appears to be too wide to fit. Is the Cub wheel hub and fittings narrower than the Bantam? I always thought they were the same. Or must I get a cub rear wheel? Oldun.

Hi Has anyone here had a go at the pre 65 trial up aviemore way that Big John does, ive heard its good but im not the best with the old bike and its not the best with water! Are the sections easy or hard , are they mostly burns like the trials up here for the more modern stuff or is it a mixture. i've an old crusader for years using it up the hills etc locally but ive fancied having a go at a trial with it. Is there any pics on the web of the event last year and who do i contact for an entry? Cheers Greg

Hi, I would like kindly to ask an advise. I have VM22 round slide carburettor in my garage. It is bolt on type.I wonder if somebody has an experience in using Mikuni VM 22 round slide bolt on carburettor in B40 trial version engine. My engine has compression rate around 6:1 or a little bid less and one inch long inlet spacer. I am trying to find the proper jetting for this Mikuni VM22 carburettor for using that in my Bsa. Can anybody help with jetting information? Best regards Erkki

Hi Folks, Hope you don't get tired of me asking these questions. The Bultaco deal fell through. Can someone tell me the difference between a 1972 Ossa MAR and a 1973 Ossa Explorer. They look the same. Are frame geometry, motor and gearing similar to the MAR. Would the 73 Explorer make a good trials bike. And if so, what would I need to change other than tank, seat and sprockets. Thanks folks, Gordon

I'm hoping that someone can give me some advice or pointers on how to solve a carburation problem on my and#39;53 350 matchless which is fitted with a 26mm MK1 concentric carb. The bike had been running fine but I started having problems on her last outing when she started 8-stroking and "hesitating" when I opened the throttle. My initial optimistic thought was she was running rich due to a combination of higher altitude and exceptionally warm weather. The problem was still there when I got her home, and on further examination I found the nuts holding the carb to the manifold (head) had loosened a little, and that she was drawing air (weak rather than rich???). I'…

As i was suffering from a bad attack of manflu yesterday i didnt take any piccys at the show Did anybody take any? Especially of the "works" 340's on the Bultaco stand? When i eventually get the James finished the next "project" will be to get the 199B Sherpa sorted and i'm sort of thinking about modding the swing arm and spindle so piccys would be great. Also be nice for people who could not make it there. I hate manflu. Should have been at Burrycliffe today i like Burrycliffe but feel So some piccys would cheer me up
