Hi, ive read lots of posts and got lots of useful imformation over the last few years on this site, but this is my first post. Im restoring an aplina 85 and i saw an aluminium tank on a certain auction site. It comes from a company called enfield county in india. Has anyone had any dealings with them and are their tanks any good. Any imformation would be appreciated. Thanks.

seems as though we used to use a stop with a calibrated slide that telescoped out the center to accurately set time on our Bulls and Pentons. dont seem to be able to find what i remember now. maybe i am dreaming that said what is the best/most accurate method of setting ignition timing

Hi all, I was wondering if someone could give me a colour/paint reference for the blue and silver used on the aluminium 'homerlite' tanks on a 74/75 Sherpa T 250 (model 150)? Please see pic attached for reference. I have a compressor/paint gun setup, or can use spray cans if there is a good match anyone can suggest. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Max

Hello all, I am after some information about modifying the middle box on my Sherpa as I want to cut it open and repack it anyway. I have seen some mention of modifications to the middle box to improve the exhaust but no one has said what to do to them so if anyone knows could they post it on here. Photo`s would be nice. Also would anyone have the measurements and photo`s for a Comerfords/ Reg May rear engine mount for the 199B. The off season is almost here. The swingarm extension mods would be nice as well but I can work that out as I go. The engine in my 199B is a 151 engine. I just replaced the fork springs with some from Bultaco UK and the difference is unbelievable. …

I just inspected the clutch on my 199A and found that the clutch plates use no friction material, just steel on steel. They were in pretty good shape so I put it back together with 75wt synthetic gear oil and it works well. I'm just wondering if that is the original type clutch and if there are any special oil recomendations for it. I know you guys will know.

Hi Guys Could someone help me. Could you tell me how to secure the air filter box to the frame. I've just recently started this project and the bike basically came in bits in boxes, so i'm not quite sure. Thanks Stevie

Got a set of stainless spokes from Inmotion and i cannot build the wheel same 2 cross patern that was the way it was when i took it apart. They say the spokes are for 3 cross patern . Can any post a picture of 3 cross patern so i can copy. Thank you

Hello all, I have been lucky enough to purchase a 1968 Bultaco Sherpa Model 27. It has not run for 15 years and needs a full rebuild. The previous owners have made some odd modifications such as mounting the stand on the left side and looks like they were going to have the brake and gear change on the right side. At present I am trying to collect the correct parts to put the bike back to original. One item I cannot find is a left side rear brake pedal. I know some new replacements are sold with a serrated pedals like a more modern bike but the original has a solid pad more like the brake on a normal road bike. The length is short being 175 mm…

My clutch case does not have any clearance and rubs on the clutch centre drum pins and the end of the clutch springs ? Not sure if I have the wrong clutch centre hub,or the wrong clutch case ? Year manufacture 1976.

Hi, I have a Alpina 350cc M138. I have recently drained my gearbox oil. I have the Hugh's Manual and it specifies to use SAE 90. I was wondering what you use and recommend? Also, I am using SAE 30 for clutch oil, good?

Hi, I have scraped all paint off headstock and cannot find a frame number. The heabstck looks like a different material from rest of frame and it didnt have original silver paint(frame has been painted a horrible colour over original) Could frame be more recent than engine, it looks like M-80 and has slimline tank seat unit. Been raiding the photo albums, and thought this may be appreciated!! The young Italjetfan is about 6 months old. I actually tried to recreate the shot on a different Bulty when my daughter was the right age. only to find my Mum had thrown Dad's trials overalls away about a month earlier!!! Shame... Hi, i have what I think is a 198, the frame number starts with 198 and then some numbers. The bike has the alloy bashplate/no frame rails at the bottom. Am I right in thinking the bashplate model was 198A and 198B? If so maybe mine has been converted - if it has then its a professional job and looks very much like others I have seen so Im not worried but it'd be nice to know. I'd have expected the frame number on a 198A or 198B to start with 198A (or 198B) not just 198... Any ideas? thanks

I recently aquired a 199A which I plan to ride vintage with. I have two questions. It has the original (skinny) Betor shocks which need to be rebuilt. Are there rebuild kits available for these shocks and if so where can I get them. If I were to put a new set of shocks on this bike what are some of the recommendations? Thanks

I have just noticed a Model 49 on 'Spinning Wheel Classics' website with an interesting letter of provenance, I have exactly the same bike including Homerlite tank and 'later' exhaust in bits in my shed, I have taken said bits to Mr Millers and he says they are just standard M49 of 1970s manufacture so my question is does anyone else have the same bike and are there more than the four? I also notice certain spelling mistakes in the letter surely even Sammy could spell his own address and the word Scottish with two T's, Oh and was there a Scottish TWO day trial in1969? Heres hoping only the other two bikes appear!

Just bought a Restored Sherpa T ... Just having problems starting it .. pulled the plug out and its getting a good spark but its very hard to start, once is running it runs really well .. any tips for carby settings or things to check also tips for starting them any advice would be great I have a Service manual on its way but wont be here for a while yet its running an NGK BKR6E I think well its the same plug as my Sy 250 scorpa not even sure if thats the right plug cheers boys
