Hello i had a Beta evo 4T 300 - year 2011 which is now from my brother. I was wondering if some one could tell my if the new montesa 260 sounds not so loud like the old 4rt. The Beta 4T sounds like a sewing-machine and that's nice for the neighbours. Maybe the new Montesa is quiet as well. Greathings Luc

Has anyone been successful in getting a new 300RR insured for the road? The current insurance company I'm using for my 2015 260 doesn't recognise the 300, and so far neither do any of the others I've tried. Cheers

Montesa World Racing 4RT engine got hot and blew out most of coolant. Refiled and noticed that the flow through radiator was non. Checked pump, OK. Checked seals, OK. No water in oil or compression leaks into coolant system. Bike has been running fine last 50 hours. After this happend the engine was low on cooland(due boil), but i also had to fill 150ml engine oil for some reason. Never used a drop before(can it be due it got hot?). So i wonder why this happen, what to look for. This is a 2012 model Future World Racing 292cc Montesa with bigger radiator ++ Fan runs ok, so thermostat is ok. Else i wonder, can air block the coolant flow?

Hi Guys I'm new to the forum, I've got a 2008 Repsol 4RT which has done very little from new. I bought it last year from a nice genuine guy in the North East and had a good ride before I agreed to buy it. Whipped off the front and back wheels, dropped the bars and put it in the back of the car for the uneventful journey home. When I got it home I had a couple of instances where during a drop it would die on me. So I did some research and removed and linked out the bank angle sensor. I tested it before removing it and the bike would shut off when leant over one side but not the other so it looks like it was faulty. Anyway, it never did run perfect despite th…

Do any of you have experience with the V-MAR rear shock linkage for the 4RT? The linkage lifts the rear of the bike and they claim: "This gives you improved 'hop' without sacrificing the excellent rear end traction." If you've tried the linkage, did it work as claimed? Please share your thoughts/experiences with this mod. Thanks

  16. I have a 2015 4rt (standard) fitted with a twin map PTB. I'm toying with the idea of either buying a new 2017 4rt, or spending the £1500-£2000 it would cost to upgrade on mods for my 15. Keeping in mind that I already have a PTB. What mods would you want for your 4rt, if you had £2k to spend?? Flat tank? Ohlins rear shock? Termignoni exhaust? Mitani exhaust (front pipe or full system)? Shock link plates? Different anodised "bling"? The list is endless! But if you had the 2k what would you buy?

Well my Mont MH123 is finally up and running. I decided to fit NJB expert shocks and I am very dissapointed with them. I accept I'm a modern trials rider use to mono shock bikes but there just seems to be little damping and they just spring back. The rebound just seems rapid. The montesa shocks I took off were far smoother on the rebound but were too tatty to compliment the restoration. Am I expecting too much or have people had better experiences with these ?

Hello everyone, Just thought I would share with you my current experience of a 4RT. I currently ride a 2006 Beta and am looking at treating myself later this year. Have been looking at a Factory Sherco or a Vertigo, then my cousin who currently rides a 2015 4Rt said "why don't you try mine?" So yesterday I rode a trial on it and my god what a bike. Completely threw me off my guard, lovely balanced bike gave me loads of confidence and such smooth power delivery. Don't get me wrong conditions were wonderful and I only rode the Novice, but rode every section in first gear and cannot get over how much torque it has and how smooth it was. Am currently still smiling about …

Hi All, I have done my first trial now and have a few issues with my 1978 Cota 247. It smokes a LOT. It dies at low revs. It feels all choked up. The person I bought it from said to use a ratio of 25:1 and it is a mineral oil Is this the best oil to use or go to a synthetic? Is the ratio correct? I will go and pull the plug soon to see what it looks like. Is it worth pulling the exhaust off and clean it out? Is the gasket on the exhaust re-usable or will I need a new one? Sorry about all of the questions, but you guys look a friendly bunch.
