Just thought I would show off the fruits of my labour for the last couple of months. Now to get it dirty!

Been toying for ages about getting another 4-stroke that i could use in "twin-shock" and maybe "green-lane" events, and was curious to know what your views on the Honda TLR200/250 were. I have an old brochure from '83 that states "HRC optional tune-up kit" what would that comprise of ? Apart from removing the lights/electric-pack, would there be anything else i should consider changing. And lastly, what are spares like ? Thanks in advance. Gaff.

Hello to all. I recently took delivery on a very decent 1986 TLR 200 and I'm in the process of getting the bike back on the road. My question at the moment is how you folks have your carburetor adjusted. I did an ultrasonic cleaning removing most all the parts but the air screw. This has a cap that prevents it from being turned fully out. Currently it seems to be running way too lean and very hot engine-wise. With the seat removed, if I place my hand over some of the air vents it will pick up speed. I assume this means it is starved for gas... but I'm not sure why. I may try and clean the carb a second time and this time remove the air screw. I should also say this wa…

Hi guys, just about to start a tlr refurb, couple of questions please, i was looking at the ozo elite adjustable rear shocks, anyone any experience with them and big valve head and hi lift cam thoughts? Not sure if you loose Bottom end smoothness, Thanks for any help

I'm planning to fit a Honda xl185 into my tl125 frame. Can the xl185 cdi ignition be wired without a battery? Which wires go where. The 185 engine came with a very tattly frame & running gear so I do have the old wiring loom to cannibalise. Thanks Mike Hammond

Anyone any suggestions of a good quality (ie long lasting) exhaust paint? I've triad a few but none seem to last as well as I would like.

I am building two trials bikes, one is a TL125 that I have owned since high school and is in pretty sad shape, at least cosmetically, the other one is an 87 TLR200 Reflex that started as a roller and then I acquired another parts bike with a complete engine. The engine while complete has some issues, mainly one being that some one welded on the kickstarter to the shaft. Let me start this by saying I am a cheap a*** , if there is ever a question of why something was done a certain way , you can probably refer back to this statement for your answer. kinda miffed on which way to go, Are the liners any stronger for the big bore kit,(cyl. is a 122cc) and I know there is a 124cc, but can the 122 cc cyl. be used? Or is it better to do the stroker kit. any help would be kewl. All I know is that stock is a little on the soft side(ha ha) and this will be my 5th TL to revive.

I have a '74 TL125 and the origional carb body is warped and the slide sticks so bad it is unusable. Has anybody run across another carburator that works on the TL that might be easier to find? It seems I remember someone saying a XR75/80 carb will work but I haven't checked and would assume it would need rejetting. What should I be looking for?

I was having a hard time kick starting my new "used" TLR200. The first thing to suspect would be the automatic decompression (or compression release if you prefer) system. This is designed to relieve some of the pressure from the starting process by opening the exhaust valve a small amount. The manual says the lever on the top outside of the head should have 1 to 2mm of play. Well, mine had that so I assumed it was working. Still the kick start was very hard to move. However, what I found was you cannot tell the decompressor is working from the outside lever action alone. just like to share my new bike with you, its taken me a couple of months to get it like this from a standard tlr 200, I done 1 like this in 2002 but in blue\white colours,rode it for a while then sold it, theirs a pic of it somewhere on an earlier honda posting. hope you all enjoy it

Could anyone help me please ? Have recently bought a TLR 200, probably 1984, just in from Japan, roadgoing gear all in place. I want to gear it down for club trial type use and am wondering if anyone could advise the front/rear sprocket sizes which would be suitable for that use. hi i have got a honda tlm200 i think it is 93 and it has got and all in one tankcover and seat made out of fiber glass and i dont think it is standard becuse the pics of all the other tlm200s ive seen have all got metal tanks and a seat unit which slots in to the tank. ok now to the things i want to find out were can i get parts for my tlm, i know that certan tlm220 parts fit like the exhaust system and mudguards ETC. It would also be very helpfull if any body had a spare work shop manual and parts list i would pay for it somehow.

RS 250.......Starting price!! TLR 250...pretty but at that price...... Gets worse, neither are worth close to their starting prices surely...

What is the basic difference, wheel rims and fuel tank plus full road gear? Is the engine frame the same. Thanks

Is the TLR200 Reflex about the same size as most other trials bikes? That is, the wheel size, seat height, overall length, weight of the bike... is it more or less the same? I have read where some say it is too heavy. Just wondering.

restoring a reflex and im almost done,put a honda xr100 carb on it, wes pipe ,alum wheels,fiberglass tank seat combo,does anyone or has anyone messed around with the steering geometry on these bikes it steers like a pig,also finding shocks with a 17 1/2 eye to eye center is another issue,also put on a hand compression release to eliminate breaking the hard to find kickstart levers,any tips on these babies would be cool
