Hi all, The latest addition to my garage is a tlm 50, I know nothing about these and very few people seem to, thats either because there rare or there really c**p! Anyway i have aquired this bike and it needs some tlc! Wondering how many there is around and if it is likely to be an UK model? Think it is around 1983-4? Is there a Honda number i can ring to find out? Also how much would it be worth in good condition? This may out weigh the point of tinkering with it! Any info would be greatly appriciated! Cheers Gav

Right, My TLR 200 is running like a dog , but only at high revs , if you ride off ,1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th ect full throttle it runs fine till it tops out in 5th, but if its left in any gear , lets say in 1st and you open the throttle right up , once it "tops out" in that gear it will then run with a miss fire , it will run like that but sounds really nasty , Now then , speaking to a bike mechanic at a trial the other day he said it sounds like its over fueling and that its something to do with the carb , Ie time for a new one or smaller main jet ? If you blip the throttle and let it off again it will rev up and back down really nicely , but if you open the throttle and hold…

Hi all honda experts, I have a TLM 200 which i have just done a full engine rebuild on, main bearings main seals ect. It runs (somtimes)on a keihin pe26 and will currently not tick over for more than a few seconds and any aplication of throttle just kills the motor, the carb is all clean with fresh fuel at 50:1 the spark plug is a new ngk and has a visible spark. The confusing bit is it will start easily a few times and then cut out but after about the 5 or 6th go it will then not start again for the rest of the day This is rather disapointing after its been totally re-built at some cost and lots of time, i just want to use the thing now, any suggestions anybody.........…

I've been talking to Andy at Ohlins about rebuilding my RTL shock. He mentioned about making a new shock, but it would mean having to make a custom part for the bottom mount. It wouldn't be cost effective to make a custom part in a quantity of less than five. I'm not going to get five made then sell them, but if there is a market for five then Andy might be encouraged to make the part. The cost would be in the region of £400 for a custom made shock. So if you are seriously interested in an Ohlins shock for the RTL then PM me.

Seems I'm the only one posting these days but if there are others out there who care to take part in the discussion... Can anyone identify this Honda? Which Honda is it? BTW: The video was apparently shot in 2006

kinda miffed on which way to go, Are the liners any stronger for the big bore kit,(cyl. is a 122cc) and I know there is a 124cc, but can the 122 cc cyl. be used? Or is it better to do the stroker kit. any help would be kewl. All I know is that stock is a little on the soft side(ha ha) and this will be my 5th TL to revive.

Hi all. I've taken a lot of Honda trials picture from this site for my own enjoyment. I was thinking about starting a website just for some of these photos. Problem is I don't know if that's OK with the rightful owners. I won't put anything on there that shouldn't be. It's obviously not for anykind of profit. I think I'll just put them up and if you own one of them you can ask me to take it off, give me more information to add, or just ignore me. I'll give this post a little time for comments too. Eventually I'll just put a link on the bottom of my signature.

Good morning, I know its an old subject and I have read the forum entries and seen footage on Utube but..................... I have tightened the timing chain as per instructions, which seems to be well within the wear parameters, by setting the timing marks to TDC so the chain isn't under load, releasing the 14 mm locknut, removing the 10 mm nut on top and pulling up on the tensioner rod and tightening up again. Fine..........fired up, sounds great until you load it with revs and it appears to release itself somehow. THE QUESTION.......the tensioner rod has a bugle type head to it ( by the way this is free and not stuck it will push up and down ), once you pull it u…

Could anyone help me please ? Have recently bought a TLR 200, probably 1984, just in from Japan, roadgoing gear all in place. I want to gear it down for club trial type use and am wondering if anyone could advise the front/rear sprocket sizes which would be suitable for that use. If you know the chain type which would match that would be extremely helpul. Happy New Year to everyone on Trials Central and thanks again for any help and advice.

I'm planning to fit a Honda xl185 into my tl125 frame. Can the xl185 cdi ignition be wired without a battery? Which wires go where. The 185 engine came with a very tattly frame & running gear so I do have the old wiring loom to cannibalise. Thanks Mike Hammond

Looking at eBay and T & MX , it's apparent that anything that resembles a TLR is making 4 figure sums, for any old dog of a bike. Scabby TLR200's are making

I don't think it will hold it's value like the last RTL I bought, that was still worth it's original cost when it was 15 year old. http://automobiles.honda.com/models/model_...erDetected=True
