just opened up my new 03 beta as it was knocking with the intention of cleaning up the piston / head as reccomended else where on the site to find NO water in the radiator or engine.. i've literally had this 2 weeks from a respected dealer, I suspect that the radiator is crushed ( is it suppossed to have a crushed core and appear bent on the offside?) looking at the frame closely it looks like it has fallen very heavily on the frame and that has been bent back, what do you think or am I PARANOID!

I just bought my first two stroke in a million years, and I'm not quite sure what ratio to mix my fuel. The bike is a '13 Evo 300 2T, and the manual recommends 1.5% if running synthetic premix, 4% if running mineral. I'm using a semi-synth because I have it around (it's motorex), so I'm not sure how to mix... maybe split the difference?

just got my new 07 rev 3 and am very happy with it i got to take her out of the box and pdi it (under the watchfull eye of Chris from HLS) the colour isnt the red you see on beta usa its like the 04 orange with totaly new stickers lots of white stickers around filter cover . the fat bars are cool they make the whole front of the bike feel so good cant wait to get out on it by the time i got it all done i could only get a quick shot in the square it feels a bit more snappy than my 06 but that may just be that new bike feel . Im off to a trial tomorrow so i will write again after it to give my opinion Thank to gary Coward for letting me have the first one ill try not t…

Hi, I've got a slow action throttle on my 200 at the moment, it's ok but if I haven't got much of a run up to a bank or hill I find the power is a bit delayed, it's not the most comfortable position for the wrist right back either. I have changed the gearing from 11t front 41t rear to 10t front 44t rear which has helped make the bike more usable in the first three gears in tight places. Some people have told me to keep the slow action throttle, other people prefer a quick action throttle- so I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else tried both on their 125 or 200? If so how did you find it?

I've just bought a '96 Techno 250 and I'm just figuring it out! The clutch drags but the great posts on here have pointed me in the right direction with that! With regards to the brake disks, are the disks themselves floating? The disks look 'loose' to me but the previous owner says it's normal?? What gearbox oil is recommended and how much is normally required? What's the best oil to use also? Thanks in advance Steve Edit - Just found out it's a '96 Model with the Orange and Grey colour scheme.

  6. Started by trialtrial,

I dont compete - I use my trials bike to putt-putt along west coast rooty, rocky single track. I used to ride a GG 2000 txt 280 and it worked really well for this type of riding. With the trials bike I can "style" the trail, whereas with enduro or MX I just end up "brute force" bashing things. I like going slow and styling the trails. Anyways the old 2000 GasGas still works, but is really worn out. So I thought I would get a later model bike. So I went searching for a newer trials bike I can use for my single track technical riding. I wanted something known to be mellow. I read a ton of topics about my type of riding and the 2005 Montesssa 4RT and 2008 Beta Rev …

  7. Im trying to get my 2003 270 running. At the minute when it runs sounds fine then dies and wont start again. apparently the 'expert' has tried different stator, coil, cdi etc. Hopefully nothing big but im questioning crank seals or piston rings as ive not had time to strip it as yet. It has cost me a lot of monies so far and still have a broken bike. If its seals how expensive/difficult is it to fix them? Any ideas welcome. Thanks in advance

I was thinking that Beta have stuck with the tried and tested format for a while now and must be due a major revamp or face being left behind the competition. Anyone heard anything on the grape vine ? Stormy

  14. Been looking at the Beta Alp 200 and wondering if it can sensibly be used as a dual purpose bike? Is anyone trialing on one, and how does it rate? I am very strictly in the wobbler category so have no need for the latest, lightest, most powerfull trials bike. For road riding I only need something for local B roads. No great distances intended. One bike would fit in the shed better than two. I currently have a Montesa 315, and obviously for trials it is far more capable than I am, so should I buy a seperate bike for the road or kill two birds with one stone and get an Alp?

Ralph bought one of these carbs last week for a try, I very nearly bought one in the summer due to running problems but hesitated as I did'nt fancy weeks of setting it up. Carb on the bike today and wished I had bought one ages ago, I had a feeling the bike would run slightly better but the difference is incredible, had a go on it and really did nt want to give it back. The engine note has changed, the throttle is light, its picks up really easily and revs clean all the way through. The bottom end grunt has increased dramatically and I never noticed any pinking, fluffing or trail of petrol all day. The bike was nt running to bad before but it has transformed into withou…

Hi All, I bought an 01 rev3 250, I bought it as a non runner. (Didnt spark) I bought a new ht coil, lead and spark plug cap that didnt fix the problem. I realise that these bikes have cdi and stator problems can a newer model be fitted to cure the electrical problems? Also how do I test both the cdi and stator to ID the problem?

I have a 2004 rev 3 250. I am having a few problems with the clutch when the bike is cold. I have only just got the bike so I don't know when the oil was last changed. I am also thinking about doing the clutch mod. What is the best recommended oil? Thanks, Dan.

Hi, I've just bought a Beta Rev 3 200cc 06 last week. I've done the clutch mod to the bike (filing down of the glue). The gearbox oil was white, I thought water had leaked in through the clutch case o ring which was too large upon inspection (which I cut down and attached on with some silicon). I have since changed the oil 3 times, the oil got clearer each time, but the sight glass on the side still got cloudy running her with the last batch of oil. I thought the coolant might be leaking in (people on the site have told me about the magnesium casing corroding/ water pump seal problems). But the coolant level hasn't gone down much since being filled. There don't seem …

Guys in the club who ride Evos say there are two types of Evo riders. Riders who have broken their rear fenders and riders who will. Although the plastic is pretty stout, it's not as "rubbery" as the rear fender on my Scorpa or Montesa, both which would be broken if it weren't for the mounting screws I replaced with ZIp ties. Isn't so easy to mount the fender with Zip ties on the Beta. Just curious, how many of you have broken your rear fender?

Hi there, Help please why my 2012 300cc 2stroke Factory Beta would be kicking back when I am trying to start it??? I give it a good hard kick and it has been kicking my kick start back up and wont start, it don't do it every time but maybe one of every 3/4 kicks it seems to be doing it. it has not done it from new and only in the last 6 months it has started to do it, Fly wheel key is ok and not bent. Can CDI play up after a while?? Thanks for any help.
