Having ridden in the Costa Brava 2 day trial again this year, a great event, I was very impressed with the results system. Each bike had a "transponder" and score was entered at the end of the section, much the same as punch cards. This was then sent to central score system. Instant results!

The last time I rode a trials bike it was in 1978. It was my late brothers Montesa Cota 248 if I remember rightly. I was 16 at the time. Oh the power compared to my Honda SS50 5 speed. Roll forward 40 years I decide I would like to have a go at trials. Ask for advice on here and get advised to buy maybe a 200 to 250 2 stroke or a 250 four stroke bike as they will do everything a novice wants and more. So what do I do? I purchase a Beta 300 Evo 2015. Collected it. got it home. Washed it. Admired it. Well today I decided to take it to my workshop that has a bit of waste ground adjacent to it and have a ride. Piece of p*** me thinks. Oh ho…

I've a Beta evo 300 that I fancy taking with me to next years iom TT. I'm going to do some off road stuff but I'd also like to use it to get about on. I don't fancy standing up for miles though. Has anyone any experience with aftermarket seats ? I have seen the Beta seat tank unit but it doesn't really look £500 worth.

Thinking of buying a trials bike to practice on and do the odd trial. Never ridden one before (only ridden motocross). What size bike would you recommend? 250, 300 etc. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi everyone looking for some advice .. So I wanted to get my son started in trials , He is 12 in Jan and is only around 4'6 (138cm ) roughly ... He is a bit small for his age I guess , reasonably strong and fit very active.. Anyway , wanted to get him riding , so the other day I saw a beta 80cc big wheel bike , which when I looked at it looked like it would be the right size for him with plenty of growing room .. well today I took him out with it , and the bike seems really big for him , he isn't able to start it yet , some because of lack of technique and some because the bike is big .. we pottered about for an hour or so, with me by his side , …

After a year away from riding I'm finally getting back out on the bike tomorrow. Problem is I have two fuel cans with petrol which has been mixed with 2 stroke oil, but they've been sat for approximately 12 months. Will it still be fine to use with my Beta 250?

Just finished Graham Jarvis’s book. I really enjoyed it and there was a good bit on trials in there and how much Malcom Rathmell helped him. Very positive on the sport of trials. Well worth a read

how often can a x11 be turned before the tyre becomes stretched or won't hold air. Interested to know because they can keep a good square edge on the tire when turned regularly but wondered will this affect the tyre in any other way?

Hi there, I've been progressing with nose wheelies recently but every time I get a good one where I'm at the balance point, the bike wants to die once I come down, as if it's running out of fuel. I have to work the throttle for a good 5 seconds to keep it going. This also happens with a hard splatter or any sort of heavier impact but it's not quite as extreme as the nose wheelie. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Seth

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows if speedway bikes still use 350x19 trials tyres, and if they do, where do they get them. I think that some of the older trials bike conversions, such as Bantam Trials bikes, would only take a 350 tyre, without extensive widening modifications to the rear suspension.

I am 5'11 tall (180cm) and 190 lbs (86 kg). I am athletic and very physically fit. I race in GNCC hare scrambles and ride hard enduro on my GasGas 300 XC. I want to get a trials bike to help with my hard enduro skills and also as just another motorcycle activity to enjoy. I have never even seen a trials bike in person and I don't think there are any clubs near me but I will try to look. I have no idea what to look for for a first trials bike. 2 stroke or 4 stroke, engine displacement, etc. I do not want to get a beginner bike that I will quickly out grow but I do not want a bike that will be too much for me. There is a beta dealer 2 hours from me and I think that …
