When I dropped my son off at school today I began talking to one of the moms who's son is a few years older than mine and he races motocross. She was going on about how fast he was and about how he does the big triples and that he has a KTM deal where he gets a bike, parts and clothes and who knows what else. After talking for a few minutes it turns out her kid doesn't even win the big races like at Loretta Lynn's only like top five. After that I had to brag that my kid was a trials national champion. She then asked right away who he was sponsored by.I said nobody. She got this look on her face like I then began to explain to her that they sell more CRF 450's in SoCal in one…

Compare the scores! The US Expert class was soundly beaten by the 125cc world championship riders. I knew it was going to be interesting having our Experts ride against the 125cc World riders and the US Pro class riding against Laia Sanz. It was the first time we could really compare head to head where our US riders stand against the rest of the world. Now we know we have some solid work to do! Where we need to make changes and its the proper time to do it.

I know it has been too quiet here, so I will start it! Why is it some or most of the manufacturers of trials machines just cannot seem to get it right? Everyone has a love/hate relationship with the bike it seems, some more than others. Do the Spanyards, Itialians, French or Japs even understand ENGLISH? Beta's p***, Gassers pegs fall off, Sherco mudguards do not fit properly and twist, God help you on a 4t whatever! Mont= more money, that will help! This is nothing new, and at the cost of bikes, well-------comments welcomed HERE! Tell your stories! Some of this crap should have been recalled! Lets hear it!

My parents always ground into my head from a young age to always wear a helmet no matter what! To this day even if I'm just warming up my daughters ttr 50 with training wheels I make sure to put one on. I am always disturbed when I see guys (or girls) riding without a helmet wheather it be on a 50, trials bike or a four wheeler, and that goes double for when kids are around. A couple examples lately here on the internet that I was suprised to see was R2wtrials on the Beta 4t with no helmet and what I think was worse was a video on the Trials Training Center web site of Laia Sanz riding at the TTC with no helmet. I know she was not doing anything tuff for her, but th…

Sincere Apologies To Everyone, Over the past few years I have forwarded funny pictures and jokes to friends who I thought shared the same sense of humor. Made numorous posts of the same. Unfortunately this wasn't the case and I seem to have upset quite a few people who have accused me of being sexist and shallow. If you were one of these people, please accept my humblest apologies. From now on I will only post with a cultural or educational content such as Sherco repairs, old monuments, nature and other interesting structures. Sherco's don't break much so: Find attached a picture of the Pont Neuf Bridge in Paris. P.S. For those of you who are interested, Pont Neuf i…

What should they do next to WOW the crowd?, They should have some pretty good backing now to set up props. My first thought is a van or car or motorhome, U Haul Truck. People need to relate to something. When you say they rode up a van, people have a grasp of what they did. When you say they jumped from one stand to another it is hard to get. I was thinking a hot chick to bunny hop over or more hot girls is always good. A good chase scene. What ideas do you have.Lane could help them (seriously). Ringo could MC, Pat could give a speech?? Lets give them some ideas (like they need our help).

29 December 2003 This is a diary to share what goes on with the hosting of an event. It may be silly to some, stupid to some, and interesting, entertaining or comical to others. Probably a little bit of each to most readers. My thoughts with doing this are that it should provide some insights for others that are potentially looking at being promoters. I also hope that it will let some of the more seasoned promoters see the mistakes I am about to make, and hopefully lend a kind bit of advice. The third goal would be that hopefully some of the folks that just ride, and never are the promoter, will read along and appreciate what the folks putting these things on go thr…

We don't pick up on everything and don't have time to keep tabs on all that goes on so your help in a bit of policing would be appreciated. If a certain individual says a single bad word about the NATC or Wiltz Wagner on these forums please click the "Report" button below the post to bring it to our attention. I did mention an alternative forum for you guys for some of the more crazy stuff you talk about that tends to go WAY off topic....cough....ringo....cough as there was a fair bit of light-hearted banter in the forum that shall not be mentioned If you want it speak up, but it won't bear anyone's name and the same will apply as mentioned above. A few names were sugge…

It was posted that rules changes were being submitted to the Governing body ( Twin shock/Drum Pre 1985) and those concerned should respond to their representatives in favor of the motion . Also that TLR's are not included . Well...Okay ....ITSA (yeah , okay pun intended ) start . Nothing ventured , nothing gained . I think with the new Trials Coordainator , that there can be improvement . But it takes your voice ! Thought's ?

Here it is. The most waited for DVD of all time. The DVD is about the 3 most prolific riders of the 1980s. Hernia Tryharder, The Unknown Trials Rider and Aaron Slickhead. These 3 riders took the World by storm on their factory SMW scoring several World points. No not SWM but SMW. These 3 factory riders had it all. Factory bikes, factory station wagon, women, money, fame and their own riding apparel. They were the original Jackasses No one really knows who these riders are, not even Steve Fracey. But on this DVD they share all of their top secrets of being a Top World Rider. The DVD has 2 different movies and as an extra bonus, Trials crash scenes. The DVD is about 25 …

All this talk about no-stop vs stop 'n hop, got me thinking.,,, I'm relatively new to trials, have only been riding 5 years, but I am thoroughly addicted to it... I've been travelling around to whatever national (US) events I can get to, and I always have a ball. I love the community, have made lots of great friends, and the competition is friendly and supportive. I come from a car racing background. I was a winner. Consequently people didn't like me until they bothered to get to know me. I was labelled a cheater, etc. - same old story. It was technically challenging and I still enjoy racing when I can but it's no longer my "life". Trials is. So I don't really have a h…

I'd like to point out the fantastic support that Southern Califorina Trials riders and clubs have given to our Youth Trials Team. Over $5000.00 dollars have been donated and raised to get Team Califorina out to the Youth nationals for 06. To date, this young team has won all 3 Trial De State national team titles! Beating every other state team in the nation. They have also won more individual age group national titles than any other team. Southern Califorina has put more effort into youth trials than anybody in the nation! Not only have the kids worked very hard but the parents and fellow club riders have been totally behind these amazing kids. A speical mention must…

  16. The NATC held their annual meeting over the weekend. Among the highlights at the meeting was a decision to use the term 'MotoTrial' instead of the phrase 'Observed Trials' for the sport. They just emailed a press release, available here: http://trialstrainingcenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/2011-1-NATC-PR-MotoTrial-promo.pdf

For the last 3 years I have been doing my best to ride other clubs events. On top of meeting a bunch of great people it has given me a chance to observe the trends past NYS. Not to my surprise, or anyone else Im thinking, attendance is dropping in a big way. Now with a substantial bump in AMA insurance and less riders to cover costs I have to wonder where our sport stands... How much is too much to pay for a local event? We can all just raise membership costs and event prices but Im worried that will turn Dad and his 2 kids away. If it costs him 100 bucks in entry fees maybe little league is looking a lot better. Cant afford to turn away any youth. In all the places I ri…

In my 36 years of Trials participation, I have to say we now have a Checking Nightmare on our hands. I helped check a section at National Round 1 here in Ca. We were told "any contact with a section marker/sign is scored a 5". "But you can run over a ribbon with no penalty as long as the tire is not past the ribbon with ground showing between the tire and ribbon". It seems to me these 2 conflicting situations makes little common sense. We did not penalize any rider who may have come in contact with a sign short of knocking it over. In previous years, when a rider displaced a sign, it was easy to argue as the infraction was clear to see to the checker and rider due …
