  2. Hi folks, I have never owned or ridden a Fantic. I am looking at a 1982 Fantic 200 that's in good condition. I compete in Vintage Trials on a Penton Mudlark that I've put a lot of work in to, to make it competitive. I would like to know what you folks think of the 200 and how it compares with other brands and models such as the TY, SWM, Can Am, RL, Montesa, Bultaco, Reflex and other brands and models from the same era. I have been told the Fantic was like an MX bike turned in to a Trials bike, but would like to read your opinions of this model and how it preforms in the sections. Thanks in advance for any advice and opinions you can provide.

hi i own a fantic section 250 1996 model i would like to make the throttle more responsive because at the minute there is not much power in the bike until i hit high revs and i really want the power to be delivered quicker. at the minute if i come to a steep hill i need to be in 1st or 2nd to get up it when my mates are crusing up it in 3rd on very low revs although they are riding much newer bikes than me. so any help on how i can get my bike delivering the power quicker would be great. thanks

Recently purchased a fantic 200 professional 156cc, it has been played with by Mike Hann? and i'm having trouble getting bits for it. the clutch i bought for a 200 was too small and all the pics of a 200 i've found show the chain drive to be on the left where mine is on the right. Any info would be greatly recieved.

Hi all, I would just like to start by saying hi, I only registered yesterday after looking at my old Fantic 200 (1980 TX350 i believe) sitting my garage and decided to do something about it. I am having a quite serious problem with the engine. About 6 -7 years ago my brother came off the bike, jamming the throttle wide open for a 20 - 30 seconds. And since it has never been able to start. I have replaced the Plug and the plug wire and it seems to be sparking fine. I have plenty of Fuel in the tank so that does not seem to be the issue. When I kick the bike over it seems to have compression, its only 156cc but its still quite hard to kick. I have split the top casing…

Can anybody point me towards a simple diagram for the wiring on a 1989 Fantic 307. Also, how do I pull the flywheel & weights off? Does the LT leads create a spark near an earth like the old points systems did - 'cause it doesn't. Is there a likely culprit for no spark? I have replaced the HP lead & plug & as mentioned tried to get a spark from the HT lead & the LT lead, but with no luck on either. I am in Brisbane, so experience on these things down here is limited. Any help is appreciated.

  7. Hi all, right I'm back to square one - I'll try to keep it brief - ish.... Bill pye was confused as to what bike I have although he has not seen it yet. He gave me gaskets etc to fit a 212cc k-roo 1991 but they do not fit. For example, manifold gasket he gave was square, mine is round 2 bolt. The list goes on. The bike definately looks like a 1991 k-roo but we thought it could of been a 250 after what bill said. Being a newbie, I have just come across the engine badge: FM 363 212cc which is a big big breakthrough for me. I'm a newb, it was coated in mud and grease and got missed....oops sorry! I have fitted a PHBH 26 CS carb as some monkey had fitted a 28 BS and wonder…

After much frustration the 240 I recently bought (which had been stood up for at least 5 years)is now running sweet! After isolating the poor running to a loose kill switch wire (phew, was ready to replace the electrics / crank seals)the bike had a full practice ride yesterday and runs sweet. I now need to allocate the budget to a number of immediate replacement items to get it ready for its first comp, then I can prioritise time/money of a gradual rebuild / restore. A couple of quick questions in order to address two items without any spend: 1) Are the standard shocks (Marzocchi) rebuildable. At present they have no dampening but there does appear to be a large nut by…

well following the positive comment in this forum i've splashed the cash on a 240 Pro. with the barrall winging its way 'darn south' for a re chrome and a new piston i'm twiddling my thumbs when i want to be in the garage. the cluthch arm has the extra 20mm but still slips a little .. suggest a cure anyone? reading through the forum i've seen use the 200 yokes what do they look like as i'm told the ones on the bike may be 200's. what other things can i do to make it more rideable../ reliable... it will be used competatively twice a month and will definately not be a show bike.

After reading Glenns rave review of the Classic trial OKO setup on his 240, I took my old pwk 28 keihin from a 300 raga out and put it on my 340. I made an adapter ring out of alu first and fitted the std airhose. The main jet was 130 and the pilot 30. The bike would only run if the pilot jet was nearly fully screwed in, ie no air. The jet was too small. I then went to 36 which allowed it to run but the screw was max 1/2 turn out. More than that and it would die when revved off idle. The main jet was too small at 130 so I went to 150 which was too rich...it would not rev out and chocked up. It is now on 38 pilot and 138 main but still is not perfect. My biggest problem …

I just finished the 200 this weekend and I must say ( at this point ) I'm liking the 200 better than my 240. Unbeleivable power and will go anywhere in any of our vintage events with less weight, lower seat height, and tighter turning. A blast to ride,....hats off to the designer of these bikes. In my opinion they were truly ahead of their time ! Here are a few pics, hope you enjoy ! Happy Easter !

For those that have ridden both in competition how does the Fantic 200 (Minerelli) stack up against the Fantic 300? Pro's and con's of both please.

I had decided to replace the rear silencer on my newly acquired 240. The options I considered were... An exact copy of the original from France Trial Classic The WES after market silencer A new silencer manufactured in Italy and on sale on ebay I was tempted by the original copy but the downside was that it was not repackable. The WES silencer is repackable but looks different from the original and is reported to cause slight power loss. The ebay silencer was a complete unknown but after an email to the seller I decided bite the bullet and go down this route. I managed to buy the silencer through ebay but choose to buy through the american site as doing so enabled me…

Hi there, finally after a year of searching I got myself a 200 and can put my TLR200 to rest. I am really impressed by that wee Fantic! What a nice handling bike and the power picking up sooo smooth... you know what I mean! Only a couple a things I probably want to fix: -Clutch needs a lot of finger-force: cable is mooving freely.. anything else to have the clutch actuation less "blistering" (to my finger, that is..) - Clutch slip in 5th/6th gear... No noticeable slip in lower gears... what oil do you recommend? Cheers!

Sorry to start a new thread, but I did come across a '95 section last summer, and the same good friend that found that for me, just delivered a trashed, but sound '96 as a parts bike. Here's a photo of my two dinosaurs in the shop.

Hello all, ive just purchased my first trials bike. A ruff and ready 1994(I believe from pictures)Fantic K Roo. Having only rode reasonably new road bikes 600/1000cc my practical knowledge of bike mechanics is limited! I have a few questions im struggling with. Firstly the bike seems to lose all its water within about 45 mins of general riding(No big hills or long rides). Is this normal? If not what are the possible problems? Would replacing the water with coolant help? Also i have noticed the fan gets stuck pretty much as soon as you get going. Is this a common fault with this model? Could this be connected to the water problem? I've checked for any obstructions and t…
