Hi Guys, I got a few woes with my tired txt 2000 280. (1) Very bad clutch drag. I know it could be anything from master cylinder, to the clutch line, to swollen discs - Suggestions on the easiest diagnosis? (2) BRAND NEW Electric fan is intermittent. It started to overheat, and fan wasn't working, so I jumpered the thermostat in the field - still didn't work. Road the bike a bit, then it started to work. Drove more and it didn't. I guess its either the alternator, regulator, rectifier or the NEW FAN is busted. Suggestions on how to diagnose? (3) The kick starter does not return. I have to return it by hand, and it is a bit of a struggle to return it back to pos…

My 2006 TXT PRO 300 had been running fine all day until at tick-over it just died, as if it had run out of fuel. Switched to reserve, tried to kick her up nothing not even a splutter. Filled tank, still nothing. Stuck her in the van and went home. Today I stripped and cleaned the Carb, stuck in a new Plug and still wont fire-up. It did run for a few seconds but immediately bogged and died. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hey all, I am seriously considering starting an own thread with all the problems I'm getting with this bike... Seems like it's no end! ;P Well, I'm still on a 1997 GG Fortuna 270cc. Today I drove down the store and up again two times, each way is approx 800m or something. One thing I noticed was that the bike would sort of skip or cough when riding on low rpm. It seems like it goes better on higher rpms... Serious skipping if you understand. It feels like it goes normally but then it stops and then it goes again, stop, go, stop,,, go........... So on my last turn home I shifted down a gear and drove on quite high speed and rpm. One thing I noticed when stopping it at …

Hi My friends bike has an issue with the clutch i think it need new clutch plates? Here are the symptons.... When changing up to 4 th gear and higher the revs go down as normal but when you try to go faster the revs get higher and you don't get faster. Also when dumping the clutch lever out on.a standstill the bike only beggins to move a fraction of a second later. The lever is also extremely light to pull on I think the previous owner must have modded it. And you let the lever out all most all the way and the clutch only engages in the last cm of lever travel. ( I don't know if that has something to do with it)? He uses gro 75w gearbox oil as reccomended by Gas G…

I have a 2014 300 Pro Racing and last week I tried the clutch action on a 2019 300. It was soooo much lighter! Seems they have a thinner spring which I guess is the reason it's so light. Also has the adjustable clutch. Anyone know if there are any other differences and if it's possible to change my 2014 clutch to be the same as the 2019? I have arm issues (compartment syndrome) and the lighter the lever action the better for me. Thanks.

  9. I have a brand new 2018 TXT280 that I picked up as a left over. I have rode it twice and its very hard to start, especially when its hot. I actually broke the kick starter off after my first ride kicking on the thing! The carb is clean, it has fresh gas (non-ethanol 80:1 Motorex) and a fresh plug. It seems like unless I kick it perfectly, it won't start. My friends have Sherco's and they all seem way easier to start.. Is there a recommended jetting specification I should run? 1000ft above sea level, 50-60 degrees? Would there be any benefit to mixing in some race gas? (Id doubt it but can if it helps..) Should I look over e…

Hi all, 2000 txt boy will not start, I have clean fuel, spark and compression but it still won't go. I have looked through previous posts about stators failing but if I'm still getting a spark could it be that it's not strong enough? People also mention testing the resistance could someone give me any figures and procedures please? Thanks in advance J

Just become proud owners of 2018 (yes!) gassers a 250 and a 125. I appreciate I.ll have to wait for Glen to get back from sunny Spain but am looking for general experiences from others. I should say we have less than 2 hours on the clock so my impressions are probably a bit premature. 1) The reworked clutch is dragging (even adjusted right to the extreme/ the hydraulic element is fine) is this a funtion of the OEM filled oil? 2) The steering is sweet..don.t know what they changed in detail but yep great. 3) Both the bikes feel a bit "flighty" or nervous which with the clutch drag makes them harder to ride than my old bike (280 2015) 3a) They are b…

the rear brake on my 09 pro works fine when you press it , but when you apply continual pressure it looses the peddle, ive replaced the seals in the caliper and there dosent seem to be fluid leaking from anywhere, i eventualy managed to bleed it and get a good peddle but after a few pumps the problem returns and i get a little air at the bleed nipple as if air is been drawn into the system, ive bled the system so many times that the air must be out as it couldent of worked with the amount of air thats came out. any ideas?

Hi all, Thinking of refreshing the Gassa over the depths of winter, Full strip down... Just wondered if anyone knows where I could purchase this sticker kit from. Its a 2013 model livery, Thanks Deano.

  14. Hi all, just recently got a 250 pro 2011 and the power delivery is very sudden, the bikes not done much from new, original chain sprockets ,tyres etc. Gearing is 10/41 map is set in rain mode, slow action throttle fitted. I have a 2013 300 sherco which is a lot smoother to ride and I’m really surprised how bad the gasser is! Any thoughts? Maybe jetting or needle position? cheers john.
