One says 21 mm to limit the off idle cough, next authority says go 24mm to stop the off idle cough. On the two hundred cc series of motors based on the xr200 motor (including the TLR 200 Reflex) do we increase or decrease the size of the carb? Mid AtlanticTrails offers a bigger 24mm OKO Kit Jim Ellis, (CVOTC) said he went smaller, 21mm on his TLR's for club level, twin shock riding. My stock Kehlin 22mm 660c needs replacing or rebuilding. I'd like a smoother throttle response, more controllable power in the lower - mid rpm ranges, for club riding I'd like to know which way to go before I let he $$$$ flow for new parts. Thanks, Tim

Hello folks I am currently building a runabout hybrid , Tl 125 with a Reflex engine. as I am planning to use this bike mostly for general transport and trail riding I don't think a nice soft and expensive Michelin tire is a good choice here. about 20years ago I used Barum tires with a trials tread pattern that were rock hard and lasted forever on the road. that's sort of what I am after now. Looks like a trials tire but is tough as a hockey puck. any suggestions as to what I should be hunting for?? Tom Tollefson, Toronto, Canada

Im thinking I got a pretty good deal considering what the tank alone would be worth to someone. It is missing several pieces but I have a couple of XR motors sitting around so thats a plus. I have looked briefly for parts on ebay and it seems thay are hard to find and if you do find them they are pretty pricey. Im still not sure if I wanna keep it to play with or part it out because of this reason. Mainly need a seat and side covers.

I don't think it will hold it's value like the last RTL I bought, that was still worth it's original cost when it was 15 year old. http://automobiles.honda.com/models/model_...erDetected=True

Ok all you Honda experts. I'd like to know about the easy & cheap big bore stuff. I've read some about a 350 piston and a 750K1 piston. What sleeve? What's your experience? Which piston? Any tips.

Hi all, Just wondering what thickness the liner spigot has on the 150 kit. If it fits without boring the cases then it must be thin as a 63mm bore with the TL's 49.5mm stroke gives about 154cc. I measured the casing bore on an XL to be 63.6mm. Any ideas what the bore and the outside spigot size are on the kits? Do you have to bore the cases? Thanks, Craig

Does anyone have experience with downsizing wheels diameters? I'm considering putting smaller 16" wheels on a honda TLM 50 for my grandson. Most electric trials bikes do have a 16" variant and some other 50cc 2 stroke junior trials bikes had both 16" and full size wheel size options.

On the recent subject of Honda four stroke trials development...here's a pic I've had in my "archives" for a while. It's supposodly from a Canadian round of the World Championship back in the 1970's. From the terrain it looks like British Columbia but can't say for sure? I originally thought it to be a privateer on a production TL ... but a few things look different, particularly the engine cases. In any case, the rider seems to have his hands full! Can anyone here identify the bike or rider? Regards, Doug

Just picked up a tl250. The kick start lever needs to be replaced and I was wondering what other models shared the same part. I searched the oem part number on eBay but I got a kick start arm for a ton of other bikes also. Anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance!

hi. ive just posted this on the newbie section, so i thought it would be better on here. i want to keep my original airbox but the carb rubber is perished and no longer available. would it be ok if i welded a short piece of round tube to the airbox and used some flexi pipe to the carb? does it have to get gradually bigger to match the oblong cutout in the box or doesnt it matter? ta!

Hi Everyone, I have a TL125S lovingly restored. It has been running on battery ignition with the original points as I converted it to battery with all lights to commute to work. We had issues with the magneto style original ignition at the time of build and just went with the battery ignition option temporarily. I recently got a new ignition coil and plastic side panels to complete the restoration and after fitting the coil/condensor I found I still have ignition dramas. The bike is very easy to start, has enough spark to hurt my foot when the timing was set a little aggressive, but as soon as you load it up it miss fires, completely looses spark and back fires through …
