I have been looking for a vintage trials bike. This came up the other day. One owner 1976 TL 250 Honda. 85ish% complete. Came with original owners manual and the original MSO from St Johns Honda bought in 77. It had sat for 10+ years. The 72 year old that owned it was a really cool dude. It would not run when I showed up. I asked him if he would mind if I spent an hour or so trying to get it started. If we got it goin I would give him his asking price. Fresh oil/gas and a shot of starting fluid and she was running. I took it around the yard...stuck throttle cable would barely let it rev, no brakes, but it sounded healthy, and shifted through the gears great. I wheele…

Hello, Used to have a 2007 Sherco cabeystany when I was younger but sadly had to sell due to buying my first house. Got into superbikes, trackdays but trial bikes never really left me. Didn't want a new trial bike due to not having much free time as wanted something I could only use maybe once a month yet not lose me much / if any money. So I came across this for £1000. Tidy and a godd runner, started stripping straight away. I'll just chuck a load of pictures up, you'll follow it.

Just for fun I thought I would start a thread and get opinions on both bikes! I really like them both and have one of the two and possibly could get the other one! . I'm also looking for a set of piston rings for the stock Honda TLM piston.....

I've been doing a little tidy up job on a TLR 200 engine out.... frame and some other parts powered coated, its all back together now however the clutch won't des-engage the only other thing that was done was a oil change with PJ1 10 40 could this be a problem?

Yeah, what could go wrong? What I really want is a 1979 Seeley Honda 'cause they stir my soul better than any other trials bike out there. Seeking to do an AHRMA trials in a couple of years, I notice that the modern classic rule book allows the 79 xl185s to be used for ahrma trials. So I found a core bike and am researching what needs done to make a respectable trials bike that stays within the rules. I don't see much evidence of others taking on this nonsensical project, but if anybody knows about it being done well, I'd love a steer toward learning more. Here are the results of my early research: Don't know rake angle, but targeting 27.5 degrees after I…

Ello Ondafiles, Are these TLM220's? They look strange to me. They look like TLR seat / tank units but they are 2 strokes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC2WqrKjfPc

Hi all, The latest addition to my garage is a tlm 50, I know nothing about these and very few people seem to, thats either because there rare or there really c**p! Anyway i have aquired this bike and it needs some tlc! Wondering how many there is around and if it is likely to be an UK model? Think it is around 1983-4? Is there a Honda number i can ring to find out? Also how much would it be worth in good condition? This may out weigh the point of tinkering with it! Any info would be greatly appriciated! Cheers Gav

hi guys, have a look at these pictures of the carb on a tlr 200 i just bought. not sure if a genuine mik or not? there's no numbers on it, but it has pilot fuel screw rather than the usual tlr pilot air screw set up.what ever, it starts and runs real nice, just wondered if it was a known tlr mod, or something someone has tried on their own and it works.

Is there any other Fraser Honda owners out there. here are some pics of my fraser engine. Size is a bit of a mystery its possibly a 305, i would have to take the top of to measure. it is a bit of a handful to ride . if you look at the barrel you will notice a spacer at the bottom i would imagine it would be even more powerful without it. If anyone has any other information, it would be good if you could reply to this post, or send me a message. As i have never seen another bike like this. If anyone wants to ask me any questions about it, feel free to. Theres also more pictures available.

Could you please tell me if the 50 and 80 versions were the same bike with a cylinder change? Did they both run 21" front and 18" rear wheels? What was the seat height and wheelbase. How long were the front forks from centre of wheel spindle to top of stanchion? Any info gratefully received.
