Am I right in saying, the mighty Honda, have never won the SSDT and if so, why, for all the money they spend on motorcycle sport, have they not tried again and again, until they succeeded? It's the most desirable trophy of all, as a manufacture, in the world of Trials and yet, Honda, or even Montesa, do not bother. As they brand the 4rt in Japan as a Honda RTL and obviously Montesa everywhere else, they could field two teams to enter the SSDT and would benefit from either Honda or Montesa winning, although surely Honda must really want a win, to join Yamaha on the list of winners on the trophy. Is it true that you trash a brand new bike in just one SSDT, or are there trialist who get away with it? Several dutch rider who, in the far past , did the ssdt mentioned this. I can see why it isn't that nice for a trials bike to do 200km for 6 days. Haven seen my Pro's gear box i can state it isn't made for 1200km hard labour.

Am I missing something about TC. I cannot find any 2022 world trials results or SSDT daily results on Trials Central. Yes I'm old and past it these days but why has it all got so difficult. If I go into the SSDT website all they have is up to 2019 results and yes I do know there has been a pandemic happening for the last two years. Can anyone put me on the right track for the SSDT results at least please. TIA

I presume everyone has got there riding numbers for scotland. I am going up to watch for a bit in the early part of the week and wondered what numbers some of you regular contributors on here are. Kinell, Perce, Ishy, Gizza and anyone else who posts on here. So I can cheer you all on. Good luck to you all. You are braver men and women than me. Anybody who hasn't been sleeping for the last few months will know that our very own Ishy and Perce are both riding the SSDT - and what with Ishy declaring his outright superiority and Perce shedding the pounds at a rate of knots, it's shaping up to be a tough competition between them. After reading the letter from 'Scottish Hopeful' in last weeks TMX, I kind of agreed with one or two of his points. In particular, "The bottom 20-30 of the entry automatically forefeiting their ride for the following year". Pro's It appears to make a bit of sense I suppose as the lucky wobblers that got a ride are forced to make room for next years SSDT hopefuls. Cons James Dabill missed a group in 2004 and was excluded for it. The bottom 30 finishers would say "I can't ride next year but neither can he, in fact I beat him this year ". After reading HL's above post got me thinking how could you boost the entry in years when economy and such may have an effect on the entry numbers. What if Thur, Fri, Sat, were open for a three day event to fill the ranks of those riders who had gone out of the event in the first three days, even allow them to re enter if they have gone out due to bike failure if they can get their machine sorted. Some first timers may not want to take on the full trial to start with but may take on three days to see what it's like, and the older riders who think six days would just be too much, may jump at the chance to ride the last three days. Well i've booked the time off work but only for the Classic 2 day so plan to drive up on Thursday and stay till Sunday night drive home Monday. At least i should see 1 day of the main event also. As this is my first time i assumed that Fort William was the best place to find accomodation however at the Trial on Sunday some old hands told me not to but to try and stay at Kinlochleven. They also said that i probably wouldnt have a cat in hells chance as all the accomodation would be booked up already. Hi, I have a question about the SSDT, as an enduro rider I have no problem with the between section going or endurance. My question is, how hard are the sections? I have ridden trials on and off since I was 17, now 50, I now ride trials, both twin shock and modern at clubman level, was expert level in my 20's. I don't mind a struggle. Are most sections ridable for an above average club rider? This trial is on my bucket list. Many thanks in advance Glenn

The time of the SSDT is looming and there is a lot of riders out there without an entry .riders that will try every section. How many riders that have an entry will ask for 5s without trying using it to save time and energy to get round this event and claiming they have completed the event. To me this is taking short cuts.

Hearing the conditions are so bad that the event has been cancelled for day two and some thoughts that scores might be difficult to calculate due to observers cards being illegible.
