I'm having made a replacement exhaust silencer for my 1985 RTL250. Would anyone else be interested in one? My exhaust has been used as for making the templates and moulds , will be getting my new ones in 3 - 4 weeks. PM me if interested, Joe

I have been looking for a vintage trials bike. This came up the other day. One owner 1976 TL 250 Honda. 85ish% complete. Came with original owners manual and the original MSO from St Johns Honda bought in 77. It had sat for 10+ years. The 72 year old that owned it was a really cool dude. It would not run when I showed up. I asked him if he would mind if I spent an hour or so trying to get it started. If we got it goin I would give him his asking price. Fresh oil/gas and a shot of starting fluid and she was running. I took it around the yard...stuck throttle cable would barely let it rev, no brakes, but it sounded healthy, and shifted through the gears great. I wheele…

Hello, Used to have a 2007 Sherco cabeystany when I was younger but sadly had to sell due to buying my first house. Got into superbikes, trackdays but trial bikes never really left me. Didn't want a new trial bike due to not having much free time as wanted something I could only use maybe once a month yet not lose me much / if any money. So I came across this for £1000. Tidy and a godd runner, started stripping straight away. I'll just chuck a load of pictures up, you'll follow it.

Just for fun I thought I would start a thread and get opinions on both bikes! I really like them both and have one of the two and possibly could get the other one! . I'm also looking for a set of piston rings for the stock Honda TLM piston.....

hi guys, have a look at these pictures of the carb on a tlr 200 i just bought. not sure if a genuine mik or not? there's no numbers on it, but it has pilot fuel screw rather than the usual tlr pilot air screw set up.what ever, it starts and runs real nice, just wondered if it was a known tlr mod, or something someone has tried on their own and it works.

I need help from all you RTL experienced people out there!!! I got a bit of a problem. Everytime I cold start the engine it smokes alot, eventually it clears out and runs just fine but there's a smell of burnt oil in the exhuast gases. I think the problem is the valve guides , anyone have any other theories?? If I take the cylinder head of I have to replace the gasket, is it the same as one the TLR250 and is it hard to get a hold on? Cheers Ludde

Is the TLR200 Reflex about the same size as most other trials bikes? That is, the wheel size, seat height, overall length, weight of the bike... is it more or less the same? I have read where some say it is too heavy. Just wondering.

Yeah, what could go wrong? What I really want is a 1979 Seeley Honda 'cause they stir my soul better than any other trials bike out there. Seeking to do an AHRMA trials in a couple of years, I notice that the modern classic rule book allows the 79 xl185s to be used for ahrma trials. So I found a core bike and am researching what needs done to make a respectable trials bike that stays within the rules. I don't see much evidence of others taking on this nonsensical project, but if anybody knows about it being done well, I'd love a steer toward learning more. Here are the results of my early research: Don't know rake angle, but targeting 27.5 degrees after I…

I am building two trials bikes, one is a TL125 that I have owned since high school and is in pretty sad shape, at least cosmetically, the other one is an 87 TLR200 Reflex that started as a roller and then I acquired another parts bike with a complete engine. The engine while complete has some issues, mainly one being that some one welded on the kickstarter to the shaft. Let me start this by saying I am a cheap a*** , if there is ever a question of why something was done a certain way , you can probably refer back to this statement for your answer. I have looked at pretty much every TL200 build here and I do love some of the color schemes , especially the red white and b…

Hi New to this forum, just like to warn anyone who is bidding or thinking of bidding on the so called original RS250 on ebay as far as I can tell the only things original is the frame and that looks dodgy, the forks and tank also the hubs. The frame looks like a Mike Whitlock one, could tell if had photo of head stock. hope this helps if someone thinks they are getting an original. When I sus this out I will post a photo of mine which is original 100% down to the rubber honda badge on the rear mud guard. Thanks for reading hope this helps

This tape has been laying at home for as long as I can remember. I think it's a promotion video from Honda which is called "Eddy Lejeune's incredible trials technics". The only reason I watch it is to hear the sound of the bike, it just amazing. I wish Honda would do a 360 conversion to the 4rt, I would buy it strait away. Anyway for all the Honda madmen out there, here's the video: Eddy's exhibition (it's 26mb but the server is fast) A couple of questions for the gurus When was it recorded? My guess is 1982, anyone knows? In the begining of the clip there is a bike idling with blue stripes on the tank, is this a RS250?
