Could you wonderful informative people give us lousy ignorant ones some history on the Seeley? Could a person get one? Parts? What's differant? I can see that the frame and the seat/tank unit are unique, what else?

Does any one know anything about this TLR200 OKO carb kit? Claims to offer many fixes over the OEM Honda carb. Not sure l am allowed to post the link to it but easy to find on Google for both the US and UK distributors. No more throttle lag, instant acceleration, leanness is removed... The holy grail they claim.

  4. I recently picked up a very nice Honda TLR200 for vintage trials. Rode my first trials with it last weekend and the bike worked great. Compared to my TY175 though it is certainly down on power. The bike currently has the stock exhaust system in very good condition. I'd like to try one of the aftermarket exhausts. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the system sold by Sammy Miller. It is this one: http://www.sammymillerproducts.co.uk/795 I was originally considering a WES exhaust but the SM system is considerably less expensive. I also like the look a bit more than the WES. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

G'day I'm about to start a complete rebuild of a TLR200 and would like any advice regarding the front suspension. I changed the seals last year after purchasing the bike. I also replaced the oil (there are no leaks) but the fork action is very harsh especially when dropping the front end after clearing logs or rocks. I have a manual but it's very basic. What is the correct spring rate and length. Should I be looking at new springs, different oil levels, viscosity etc. Any comments welcomed. Cheers Sid

Ok folks, the timing marks on the flywheel ... 'f' mark lines up at tickover and as revs rise the timing light shows advance which keeps moving untill the 'II' marks and then goes no further. Is this as it should be, the Clymer manual for 200 hondas is a bit vague, saying advance STARTS at the 'II' marks, which sounds all wrong to me. Cheers.

A M8 has a TLR250 and the bore is at its wear limit. A WES Piston is 70,5mm, that means 0,5mm oversize but the liner is very very thin - after boring it will only be 0,80mm thick in the wall!!! . Any suggestions on either where to get a new piston and liner fitted...where are the original pistons, honda havent got anymore or, anybody got experience of the WES piston? I have been told the skirt is too long or it is too heavy. Ideas???

i'm restoring my current tl for gentle trail use only, but i have another very battered one which will be a bit more for action. anyone cut away the lower frame rails and replaced it with an ali bash plate? it was quite a common mod years ago. what else can i chop off to save weight? (dont say get another bike. i like tl's!) i have a 150cc conversion in my shed as well. apparently, early ty forks are an improvement as well.

I have a TLR 200 and 4rt and being an inquisitive engineering type have cast a tape over various dimensions. Most notably is that the engine is much further forward in the 4rt and obviously the steering is much sharper. I have a project to fit a 315 swing arm into the TLR (with lugs welded on for 2 shocks) but as the 315 swing arm is longer I need to shorten the front end of the s/arm which is no problem. But as I have the longer swing arm and before I cut off 2"s I was wondering what would be the effects of pushing the engine forward to mimic 4rt dimensions (especially if combined with sharpening up the head angle) Would be interested to hear peoples opinions -is the…
