Stolen Bikes

Had your bike stolen? Report it here

  1. My Beta got stolen a while back and I have now replaced it and don't want the same to happen twice. I regulary see on this forum bikes getting stolen. I was wondering what people do as their best line of defence. I have been looking at ground anchors, different types of alarms, chains, locks and even a doberman...... Any suggestions?

Not been on here for a while and decided to check out the stolen bike thread, as I thought that trials bikes wouldn't be stolen as often as the MX and enduro bikes...but I'm wrong! It seems that the police seem to getting a real bad press on here too as regards their reaction to a stolen bike....I have been there too when I had my enduro bike stolen. Some of the conversations I had with the police after I found out whom stole my bike, where it was being kept, were so laughable, to the point of being just unbelieveable.... " I have just seen my stolen bike"... "ooh, right thank you sir, we will get someone there this afternoon, goodbye sir" "ermm...don't you want to …

  10. Bob Forrest a member of the trials fraternity has sadly had his garage broken into in the early hours of this morning Saturday 6th April. He was at home in Leeswood near Mold, North Wales and heard a bang but didn't realise what was happening. His newly completed Faber framed B40 and his immaculate TLR with 1 piece tank/seat unit were ... stolen together with two helmets, his trials bum bag and many hand and power tools. Please keep your eyes open and let Bob aka Rob 07810 301980 or rgforrest@btinternet.com or the police know if you suspect you've seen them. This is happening now to the Classic fraternity too often to just be opportunist thieves. Where are these …

Any recommendations for a garage alarm? I've been looking at various ones; they're not expensive but I have an issue with the delay time before they go off. Some have 15 seconds, which seems enough to allow the scrote to smash to siren before it goes off. Others only have 4 seconds, which with my sticky up-and-over door may not give me quite long enough to cancel it before I get hit by the noise. I would have thought somewhere halfway between would be ideal.

I got a phone call this morning at 8:30, from the wife, saying that our neighbour has just been around and said at about 1:30am as he was going for a slash, he heard a loud bang, so decided to take a peek through the window. There was 3 guys. One was in next doors garden looking over my fence, and the other two were kneeling down in front of my garage. They saw him and ran off. I made some bits at work, and spent the afternoon beefing up the security, extra locks, and alarm. I have a good hasp and staple on the bootom of the door, cos I heard that the scumbags just bend garage doors up from the bottom and get in that way. The hasp and staple is fine still, but they'v…
