OK folks, being off work for a week (mandatory holiday shutdown) I had time to complete the fiber plate modification document. This makes the clutch progressive, eliminates drag, cold stick, slip and reduces lever pull (if you leave two springs out). And the best part... It's free (if you already have the files and Dremel polishing wheel) Yes it will cost you some time but hey you're working on your bike. That's still quality time compared to working on the car. The PDF came out over 10Meg so if you don't have a high speed connection it may take a bit. Sorry but the pictures are necessary. Enjoy Andy Edit: File optimised and size reduced to 1.8MB Clutch_Fix.pdf …

Hi I am picking up my new rev3 on Friday and was just wondering if they still have the problem of the float not closing the inlet for fuel of soon enough and pouring fuel out the overflow or has beta fixed it? cheers

Seen this yet? http://www.trialscentral.com/cms/showartic...?articleID=2645 It looks like Beta will soon be selling a 4 banger, will it be a borrowed engine from the likes of KTM or will it be a completely new home-grown motor? New frame with a separate fuel tank or built in as now? When will it be on sale? Out in time for the SSDT maybe? How much will it cost and more importantly, will it match the Mont in terms of solid build and reliability? I reckon it will as they've taken their time and not rushed the bike out like Sherco did for the SSDT in 04 (or was it 05?) Can't wait to see some piccy's

The new bike has suddenly learned a new trick popping out of first and second gear into neutral. Not real happy about this. Guess I’ll be looking into the shifter mechanism now.

I currently own a Beta EVO. On occasion I ride other ppls bikes and I cannot understand why Beta is not using the 40mm Marzocchi forks along with its mating shock that GG is using? The 38mm Paioli forks just plain suck compared to the 40's. If you don't believe me, go ride a bike with the Marz on them before you comment. So, is the choice solely a manufacturers choice (Beta) or is there some type of legalities that would prevent Beta from using a superior fork & shock? Beta uses basically a ZERO adjustable suspension set-up compared to it's competitor who uses a fully adjustable suspension (dampening & Rebound on both the fork & shock).

Here is my new project/hobbie to keep me busy with. I have been using my mates bikes when ive been doing trials recently. He has a 125cc gasgas and a 200cc beta evo. I have been looking at a few bikes, but most were in need of a lot of work so i uped my budget and purchased one this saturday (17th December), its a 2009 beta evo 250cc. It is in really good condtion as it should be only being a few year old. My plans are to give it a good clean up and service. Im also planning a few different modifications for it to. I know its a trial bike and its going to get scratched but that still doesnt mean i cant make it look nice. Here is my first update on the trials bike. …

Hi everybody So a short intro about the build, I´ve been into motorcycle trials since I first got to ride a GasGas TXT300 at a motorcycle fair. I was hooked but at first it felt pretty hopless, because at that time it wasn´t really a thing in Estonia and the only second hand bikes were still almost new and there was like 2 in the market all together. I didn´t have that much money so I thought how hard could it be to start from scratch. This was 2009 and found an engine from UK (thanks ebay) the bloke was nice enough to send it to Estonia, and well... it was from a 85´ Beta TR32. At that time I really didn´t thing about spares and stuff like that, because, again, the…

Im off to a trial tomorrow so i will write again after it to give my opinion Thank to gary Coward for letting me have the first one ill try not t…

My 300 arrives end of this week. Anyone got theirs yet? I see Steve Saunders just got one which was ridden and reviewed by Heath (R2W) on Sunday, and he rates it highly. Post your pics, reviews, tips and mods here.

Hi, I've just bought a Beta Rev 3 200cc 06 last week. I've done the clutch mod to the bike (filing down of the glue). The gearbox oil was white, I thought water had leaked in through the clutch case o ring which was too large upon inspection (which I cut down and attached on with some silicon). I have since changed the oil 3 times, the oil got clearer each time, but the sight glass on the side still got cloudy running her with the last batch of oil. I thought the coolant might be leaking in (people on the site have told me about the magnesium casing corroding/ water pump seal problems). But the coolant level hasn't gone down much since being filled. There don't seem …

My Rev 3 has been at BVM this week having the carb problems sorted out by Steve, from what he said it is like a Completely different bike to when it came in on Monday. Missed my Thursday afternoon ride yesterday, first for months so I will be out on it all day Sunday and hopefully going up big climbs at last and saving me loads on Fuel and popped spark plugs. Wish I had taken it there to be sorted weeks ago, big thanks to Steve and BVM

Hi to all I am new to Trials and even though I have been riding for 40 plus years, road, MX and enduro have never owned a trials bike before. I am going to look at a Beta Rev3 250, So here we go what am I looking for as far as mechanical stuff. It has sat for a while, all the normal stuff I am able to spot but is there anything bike specific that I need to be looking at. This bike is 14 years old so there is bound to be somthing I may stumble on ? any advice will be appreciated. Oh yeah I am am 6 foot and 16 stone will it carry me ? Rich.

Never owned a Beta until now, done a few changes like the wheels and a sticker kit may look to do a bit more soon. Compared to my Gas Gas the Beta is very stable, smooth and surprisinly easy to hop. The Gas Gas has the Beta in situations like deep mud, the Gas Gas will launch whereas the Beta will bog down - but its still early days.

Ralph bought one of these carbs last week for a try, I very nearly bought one in the summer due to running problems but hesitated as I did'nt fancy weeks of setting it up. Carb on the bike today and wished I had bought one ages ago, I had a feeling the bike would run slightly better but the difference is incredible, had a go on it and really did nt want to give it back. The engine note has changed, the throttle is light, its picks up really easily and revs clean all the way through. The bottom end grunt has increased dramatically and I never noticed any pinking, fluffing or trail of petrol all day. The bike was nt running to bad before but it has transformed into withou…

I was thinking that Beta have stuck with the tried and tested format for a while now and must be due a major revamp or face being left behind the competition. Anyone heard anything on the grape vine ? Stormy
