Just thought I,d try to start a new thread where people could show what they have been working on to keep these great bikes alive and well or even improved. I,ve been working on my brothers bike and had troubles with the rear motor mount that I posted in another thread. The repair job that Larry (lbhbul) did to the motor mount has it in and the swingarm tight with nice free movement.I had to make a mudflap for the new airbox and was nervous about drilling holes for it and for the rubber boot to carb mounting plate. I haven,t been able to work on it too much, but here is whats been done so far with hopefully more progress this weekend.

Hello The bike, the first target is to start the engine with a clean carburetor / exhaust and of course wheels (Tires/ spokes). I will manage to have a Vermont registration : its's means lights, horn with probably a new ignition with 12 volts supply. A long way to go 😪

Hello Guys, I'm new here but I notice there are a few queries about old Bultacos. I have a Sherpa T which has been in my shed for years begging for attention which I have not given as I have old cars whose needs have been greater until now. Anyway, its a 1968 engine no.M1001275, Frame no. B100275. Its a 4 speed. I will need parts for this such as cables, rear brake inner drum (on which the shoes are mounted) third gear sprocket (serious! broke it when changing gear with a broken clutch cable. Silly, but I was young then!) Various other stuff. Where's the best place to look?

Hello, let me introduce myself first (I should probably post that in the Introduce Yourself post.....) I've been into bikes and off-road since I was 6 and got a Pee-Wee 80, I then graduated to a TS 125 when I was 8, it was a rescue from a scrap yard as it was fire damaged so my Dad and I set about restoring it, whilst all the other kids got the new Atari games system for Christmas in 1984 I was more excited to get a new seat for my bike! (This should give you a clue to my age ) When my TS finally died after many years of faithful fun I was in the market for a new bike and it just so happened that my neighbour over the road had one for sale so when I was 14 I saved up…

This year is the 50th. aniversary of Bultaco CEMOTO 1958-2008. Trials bikes started to be built in 1964 with the first 3 prototypes of the Model 10 "Sammy Miller". Happy birthday, and thanks for so many trials enjoyed. Thanks BJ for this pics, it would be nice to see more Bultaco photos here.

As the title says, do you have anything that you think makes your bikes history a little bit more unique. There must be some really interesting stuff that has gone on in the lives of these bultaco's.

Just bought this fixer and not sure about the year and some details if someone out there could help and recommend upgrades. Noticed brake is on left side and thought they were imported with it on the right after 85? also not sure what those shocks are from. have some rust on the upper fork tubes can that be fixed? Many thanks in advance.

There seems to be a lot of photos showing very clean Bultacos on engine stands. Nows the chance to prove you get 'em dirty! Lets see your action shots. I'll kick off with a couple from last weekends Jersey Classic & Modern Trials Club 2Day. Which incidentally was an extremely well organised event, with top names including Steve Saunders, Mick Grant, Becky Talbot nee Cook & Ross Danby.

Hi: As many of you know, the last years of Bultaco, the factory was in the hands of the workers unions operating as a cooperative. Production of the 199B models was very chaotic and nobody is sure which frame numbers really are the first and the last, being the last, most probably the last bike ever produced in Bultaco. With a group of friends we are trying to find the latest Bultaco 199B number we can, actually doing a research in facebook and Spanish forums. The latest frame number we have documented at the moment is JB-19914920-B Maybe you have a later frame number? Please let me know!

Hi All, Went out for a spot of green laning yesterday on my Sherpa T 191. There was quite a lot of road work involved which meant trying, and failing, to keep up with my mate on his 1950 Norton 500 T. Heading back after a couple of hours my clutch was getting grabby and throttle response was jerky. Then engine lost power and died. All compression had gone so had to push it home. I've left it overnight and although I haven't attempted to start it, there is compression now. I know it's geared for trials so top speed about 30mph but does anyone know why it would lose compression? Cheers. Neil.

Does anyone know the frame numbering sequence for the 340 Sherpas modified by Comerfords?. I saw a 340 recently that looked like and was claimed to be a Comerfords bike. It had the forward top mountings for the rear shocks and the larger s/a mounting plates to take the swinging arm forward to within a few mm of the engine casing but the swinging arm itself was of heavy oval tube and I thought they had rectangular ones made by Whitehawk. Or maybe that was an extra?. How many 340s were made in total?.

WES were advertising alloy club foot replacements in the classic Scottish program. Anyone seen one yet? Any idea of price?

This story begins sometime in 1971, or maybe it was 1972, when dad bought a nearly new model 49 Bultaco. This was to replace the 4-speed model he'd ridden briefly, worn-out heap that it was. I never knew that much about that bike as a kid growing up, although I learnt plenty about the other few in the garage. After digging out some boxes of photos from my parents loft I have found that when dad left home in the late 70s to move in with my mum, he left the Bultaco behind in his own mum's garage. A set of photos from 1985 show a very young version of me looking at the bike on the trailer outside her house, and then the early stages of it being dismantled. (Dad in…

3 weeks ago I picked up a 199A (1978 or 9 350) to try my hand at vintage Trials. I got a very well used example but it started right up and seemed to run fine. I rode it almost daily as I replaced various rotting rubber parts, missing fasteners and such (including a new air filter). It always started easily and ran well. Last weekend was our premier at a local vintage Trial. We both were doing well, considering our respective age and condition (me and the bike). After the 19th section as I rode slowly between sections the bike died as if running out of fuel or fowling a plug, not a clean cutoff like hitting the kill switch but a brief on/off, trying to stay running before …

Hello, I am new member from Appling, Georgia. USA. I have been riding off-road my whole life, at age 47 , the trials bug has bitten. I now own two sherpa t 350 model 92s' and have competed in three events. My first sherpa had engine trouble when I bought it. The second one has been flawless. It is the first one I need help with. The engine ran very poorly when I purchased it. Timing was off and it was pushing oil out of the clutch side. I replaced crank seals, points, condenser, timing chain tensioner, and re jetted the mikuni 28. It ran well, but wanted to rev, after it warmed up. I have since done a top end and still have the revving problem. I have sprayed carb cl…

Hi all, On my Sherpa 325 I put InMotion electronic ignition - bolt on - could not have been easier. Easy starter no problems. On my Frontera 152 I couldn't afford the electronic ignition so stayed with the points system. Took a while to set up, the bike had been sitting for years and the stator and accociated bits were dusty, rusty and neglected. I cleaned everything, new points, condenser, replaced the lighting coil, all seemed to go together easily. Set the points gap and bought myself a dial guage to set the timing. An evening in the garage had things assembled and timed fine. Ripping across the fields and around the yard the bike went very well, easy to start, ho…

I've been visiting my local bike shop a bit too often now, after spotting this beauty! M-92 model and needing lots of love, as when we pulled the head, not even a piston inside!!! I love vintage trials, and trying to get a bit better as a rider, and very happy with my little yellow bike. But something tells me I should try to rebuild this beast and bring it back to life. Am I crazy? Will it be worth all the effort, tears and getting yelled at by family and friends that I've lost my mind?!?!? But it's soooo pretty! Any and all advice is welcome. ANd I know this bike won't make me a better rider, but I sure will look cool! Thanks!
