Hello, Can someone please help me? I'm looking to buy a secondhand Scorpa SY250 and would like to know how I can tell the differance between a 2002-2003 &2004 models other than the frame colour. Also how do you recongise a UK model from an import. One last question is there any specific weak points I need to look out for? Thanks Martin P.S. if you have a bike for sale please contact m_pennycook@hotmail.com

I'm currently looking to buy my first trials bike in about 6 years (excepting bike trials that is). At the moment I'm really tempted by the SY250, but I'd quite like to read a few more opinions on them before I commit myself! Because I can't seem to find any, can anyone point me at any dependable reviews of the SY250? I know that a lot about choosing the right bike is personal preference, but hopefully a good review should provide me enough information to help me make up my own mind Any opinions on this bike as compared to the current crop of triallers would be appreciated as well. As I understand it, the SY250 is considered quite a nice clubmans bike and having a Yamah…

I know this was a subject sometime ago and the new bike is due to be shown soon , on the last topic it was discussed what engine would be used ,and the only 250 Yams out at the time were WR250 and TTR250 Well i know it is only speculation and all that, but has the new Serow not recently been released with a 250 engine !! And anyone who has ridden the old Serow will testify what a super little torquey trail bike that was with only 225cc's hmmm ???

Are the mods on the tys125f really worth doing? the exhaust mod and pilet jet? will this stop my scorpa from being a bit hard to start from cold and sometimes backfiring/missfiring at low revs? James

No news seems to be out yet, but I thought I'd make the thread. What changes would you all like to see this year? All the other brands have announced their new bikes so I figure Scorpa won't be far behind.

OK ausy300pro, I took my lightened flywheel to the Post Office this afternoon to get it weighed. Result 1.53kg I know Nigel Birkett says the standard flywheel weighs 2.1kg, but I seem to remember mine (it came off a TTR125, paid £20 off fleebay) was 1.9kg. Anyway, all I am saying is don't go less than 1.53kg! I found that the hesitaion was more pronounced with the lightened flywheel (obvious really), but when I lightened mine, I hadn't got the carburation sorted to the extent that I have now. The reason I didn't want to sell mine was, now that my carburation is sorted I quite fancy having another go with it. The throttle response and acceleration off the bottom was qui…

Hi, I've been looking at the new Scorpa T-ride and quite fancy one. Has anyone seen one in the flesh or had a go on one? I like the idea of one to go green laning on. Can they be made road legal? If you wanted to could you do a trial on one or would the forks make the turning circle to big? Any info would be good. Kevin

  17. I leaned out the needle and main jet on my '08 Yamaha powered SY250r, but never messed with the pilot. I'm getting ready to some winter time maintenance and thought I'd mess with the pilot. Bike runs great, but I get some back firing occasionally while starting the bike between sections, and the bike seems to use more fuel than most of the others, so I wonder if it's running really rich with the stock #40? Looking at what's available, it seems there's a #38, and a #42, #44 and #46. Now my pea brain tells me should lean it out (I operate between 3000 and 7000 feet) and the #38 would be leaner than my stock #40, but my buddy swears it's different with pilot jets and the…

Righty, the wee scorpa isn't running properly and looking for some thoughts/opinions... I'll start at the beginning.... Since I bought it, it has ran perfectly well, and starts first kick pretty much every time. Out last week and it ran well again but ran out of fuel , didn't think I'd went any further than I had previously but never thought any more about it. Got home, re fuelled bike. Bike had sat since then.... Went out tonight, loaded bike up, came back in, fannied around for half an hour then went out to car to a huge smell of fuel. Checked bike and there was fuel all over the back of the motor . Took it out, cleaned up mess, switched fuel off, and off I went..…
